Why wouldn’t he though? He’s obviously has Italian parentage lives in London and when any Italian needs speaking he’ll have the accent as momma taught him to.
When I speak English I have a mild Irish accent when I speak Italian i have an Italian accent when I speak Portuguese I still have an Italian accent
Love him already…“for me its the best project that I can have to improve as a player…the team is young, the team is strong and I like this”
Btw, that picture that was doing the rounds of a young Calafiori wearing an Arsenal top is fake.
He said it himself.
He did say he was at the Emirates when we played Palace at the Emirates. That was back in January, first game back from Dubai.
But not that he’s better than Gabriel, what nonsense
LeeJuve sounding ahh.
Although it looked like a lock for more than a couple of weeks, it is still exciting to see the news directly from the club.
So amazed that we are signing top/good quality again in consecutive summers.
We are a serious club, dead serious.
Another move that moves us closer to the league title.
Great job Edu and Arteta.
After a few years, all our deadwoods are gone and we are adding piece by piece to form a team of champions.
Timber can play all 4 positions at the back, he is good.
Dude just came back from an ACL. I think it would be silly to pin all our hopes on him. It’s a good thing Calafiori has a completely unblemished health record himself.
sarcasm?
Eager to see how we line up once Calafiori joins the starting eleven. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are one or two tactical adjustments made.
The great thing about this move is that it shouldn’t just be the full backs that are peering over their shoulders, Gabi/Saliba need to as well.
It would be naive to think that he’s simply brought into play as a LB. Gabi/Saliba partnership is amongst one of the best duos in the world but with this move, we can rest them and have a plug and play type of player that replaces them (mostly Gabi).
We need to continue to preserve our squad and adding players of Calafiori’s quality really goes a long way to ensure that.
Yet again it’s what successful teams have, depth. Sure all players should want to play every game. But we’re looking at maybe 55-60 games this season. Having fresh options for every game and not tired players with smaller injuries, is what brings success.
He understands & speaks English really well.
More than Kiwior & Zinchenko, I want to see what this transfer means for Timber position in the squad.
I think Timber will be the go-to defensive substitute, early season anyway. Can come on for White, Saliba, Gabriel and Calafiori. Expecting lots of minutes as a sub in the Premier League and several starts in the Champions League and domestic cups.
His fitness is still a bit unknown, it’s why I think we’ll start the Premier League season with Calafiori.
It’s mad but also good that we’re now so adaptable to almost move on from timber being a key piece already.
Looked like a bargain last year at 40m, unfortunate injury cost us watching him but now we’re already making other options and allowing him to recover slowly.
Hopefully one of him or Calafiori make that LB spot their own eventually but for now there’s enough room for them to both get enough games across the back line.
