Where the fuck did you stay, on fucking Gardiner Street in a fucking brothel cos it was the cheapest place ye could find?

You’re talking absolute bollocks. I’ve worked in the city center the guts of two decades and while it has it’s problems the scenes you’re describing are from the racists playbook of shocking facts and nothing else.

Enjoy your miserable existence so ya prick.

I wonder why that is. Could it be the political class ensuring that the rich and powerful are looked after while shitting on everyone else?

Or is it due to a small fraction of the population being illegal migrants putting further pressure on public services. Which is actually making you poorer? Are you fine with extremely rich economic (and therefore “legal”) migrants buying-up city property and pushing the cost of housing up further?

I seem to recall that London had a strong population of non-white migrants when I was growing-up yet only one of my parents had to work to support the family and pay the bills. It’s now impossible to live on one salary, own a house and have a family. The migrant situation hasn’t changed since the 70s so what else could have changed?

Cognitive dissonance is a hell of a thing

No we stayed on O’Connell Street the main street in Dublin which was full of Vape shops, shabby pubs and bookies/arcades.

Note that you didn’t have a single counterpoint to my argument just blind, indoctrinated rage.

Enjoy your shithole just as we are enjoying ours :+1:

I spent 4 days in Dublin in 2022 and didn’t see anything like that.

We must be living in alternate worlds then :man_shrugging: don’t know what to tell you

For the proper Arsenal locals amongst you do you think Finsbury Park, or most of Islington outside of Upper Street/the Angel is a nice area?

I think the counter point is that you are in fact, lying.

Where am I lying? Tell me

As Sham said, you’ve just made up a load of bollocks that doesn’t stand the barest scrutiny of anyone else on this site’s experience of that city or, I’d be willing to bet, any other city in Britain or Ireland.

But since you mentioned Finsbury Park and Islington, a place that a lot of people on this site have direct experience of, why don’t you tell me and us what you think Finsbury Park and Islington is like? Because if you’re not just lying for effect, it should resonate with other people here.

How about being able to walk out of the station at half seven in the morning on your way to graft and not be accosted by a crackhead within 30 seconds asking for a light/a fag/money and then threatened with violence when denied?

How about being able to cross the street without being run over by a newcomer that has no clue of the traffic laws?

How about walking up the main road (seven sisters, Holloway road, anywhere in London really) feeling like you’re in downtown Mogadishu/Karachi getting eyeballed by everyone there?

And then you turn off into a beautiful residential street with houses that cost £900,000 for some reason in that absolute dive

I wish I could run into Starmer so I could punch his fucking specs through his face the judas pig

Does Gunner89’s description of Finsbury Park and Islington (see post above) match your experience of the area?

Just out of interest @GUNNER89, What’s the criteria for deciding that a driver is a “newcomer”?

been a long time since I went back to Islington, but it wasn’t anything like described above (2019). Maybe things have changed :man_shrugging:

I lived in Islington for a good few years and it’s absolutely nothing like it’s being described.

None are so hopelessly enslaved than those who believe they are free

If you all like living in an eternally deteriorating third world hellhole so be it. Clearly you’re in denial of what’s in front of your eyes so I’m not going to change your minds am I.

Just because the rest of the world’s a hellhole doesn’t mean we should drag ourselves down as well.

I’ve been to totally white Clacton during the daytime and totally cosmopolitan Islington at night. Islington is far less frightening and far more interesting.

I’ve only ever been mugged by white English kids back in the 80’s when I lived in East London. Send them back I say.

I haven’t been there but it’s going to take some persuasion for me to believe it’s worse than anything I’ve seen in Thornton Heath.
