Mate I genuinely think you’re bang on, I struggle to articulate it as I would like.
But ill say this. When social mobility consists of going on to one of these shows to become ‘famous’ (or these days to be hot/become hot and become a social media ‘influencer’ on instagram) to increase wealth, and not working hard and getting the same opportunities to education/jobs/homes no matter who you are, then this system is fucked.
Convert mate. There is no true centrist party in England anymore mate, join the SNP. They’re the only true centrist party in the whole UK, at least what I believe to be the centre of sensible politics. (Diluting whatever this shit Tory party does is not centrism, it’s barely centre right - looking at you Labour)
Haha thanks mate, when I put the effort in I can make decent posts.
No SNP for me unfortunately, I’m a Lib Demmer. Once I can apply for my British citizenship in 2020 I’ll most likely become a paid up Lib Dem member. @sevchenko
Great post.
What happened to working hard at getting a talent, then deserving what you earned out of it.
These reality stars are just chancers, who have zero talent but a level of self entitlement, that is only matched by their over inflated egos.
They aren’t even nice people, they are just selfish, self obsessed people, who crave fame, and will get it by doing the most degrading and embarrassing things imaginable.
How we have got to a situation where these people are, not only tolerated but are actually admired, just proves how low we have sunk as a society.
I don’t think anyone on Love Island is particularly admired really, people forget about them when the show is finished. Kim Kardashian is probably the biggest example of someone who didn’t work hard but she has a strong brand now, she has maintained fame and success for a while, the Love Island lot just come and go. Love Island is just a bit of short lived fun overall
I think she illustrates exactly what is wrong with society.
She actually has fans.
Fans of what?
What does she do?
She is a waste of space, who has no talent what so ever, yet has her own TV show, and has her own “brand.”
What does that even mean?
It’s just madness.
TV show, clothing and beauty lines etc. That’s a strong brand. I think she’s pretty talented to stay successful for over a decade. It’s nothing compared to the Love Island lot who are famous for a month then disappear
She is filmed going about her normal daily things on her TV show, so no talent there.
She has beauty lines, but isn’t a designer or a perfume expert, so no talent there.
Having a brand, no talent there.
She comes from a very wealthy family and contributes nothing to society, while acting like a spoilt child.
What’s to like?
I’m aware I don’t have to watch any of the reality shows, or follow any of these morons, and I can turn a TV off but people call them “talented,” that’s when it becomes really annoying.
If coming from a wealthy family, told your beautiful and wonderful by all the sycophants a hangers on that creep round you and earning money for acting like a spoil brat, is talent, then it is a massive insult to anyone that has worked hard to get where they are.
I would say that being able to convince people to give you money for all that, isn’t talent, it’s more like fraud.
You can compare Kim Kardashian to Cristiano Ronaldo, just Ronaldo’s audience has much higher standards for what it takes to be worth idolising.
Either way she’s still selling shit people want to buy. She must be doing something right because there are a million wannabe Kim Kardashians on social media having none of her success.
