The guy who has never even scored a PL goal before is going to score 10+ in this team? Highly doubt it tbh.

Is this a joke about the other Aaron Ramsey?

Ramsey would be the odd one out because of his lack of technical quality. He would be Merino with more goals. Of who we all agree shouldn’t be a starting midfielder in this set up.

He’d be Rice with more goals and less set-pieces.

That’s not really an argument in his favour tbh.

The situation between former Crystal Palace teammates Wilfried Zaha and Jean-Philippe Mateta stems from comments Mateta made about Zaha laughing at his international ambitions. The comments sparked a furious response from Zaha, leading to a public feud.

What Mateta said

  • In an interview with the French sports newspaper L’Équipe, Mateta recalled that when he first arrived at Crystal Palace, several teammates, including Zaha, laughed at his dream of playing for the French national team.
  • At the time, Mateta was struggling for playing time at Palace, which made his ambition seem far-fetched to some.
  • Mateta recently made his debut and scored his first goal for the French national team, proving his doubters wrong.

Zaha’s reaction

  • Zaha, who now plays for Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer, responded with an angry social media video, calling Mateta’s comments “nasty” and “disgusting”.
  • Zaha claimed the comments were taken out of context and that it was a group of about 10 players who were joking, not an attack on Mateta personally.
  • He also suggested Mateta was using him to build his “come up story”.
  • Zaha’s heated reaction has been criticized by some pundits, including journalist Rafael Honigstein, who called it an overreaction and cited Zaha’s previous comment about not having friends in football.

I can see truth & lies in both of their stories.

Zaha’s made a massive deal out of it. He’s shared like 3 videos talking about it, one of them in French.

Like fucking hell, how can you lose your head so easily like that…

I completely believe Mateta story.

What Mateta said didn’t even sound bad. Of course he’d be laughed at when he was struggling at Palace and France had players like Benzema, Mbappe, Dembele and others at the time.

Zaha thinks he’s accusing him or bullying or something. Guy’s lost the plot.

I’d say they did take the piss out of him but there was no real need for him to make it public. Just send a Whatsapp saying told ya cunts and be done with it.

Huge story. A couple of overpaid ball-kickers arguing about a time when player A claimed that player B probably can’t kick the ball as hard as the other ball-kickers from player B’s country and then a few years later it turns out that player B can kick the ball quite hard.

Oh please come back to the Premier League :grimacing:

Mateta didn’t need to name drop anyone, not sure why he singled out Zaha either.

You don’t out dressing room convos or banter, that a rat move. If you had a beef for his comments take it out in private

I think you’re the person that shares the most Always Sunny clips in here. Have you kept up with the show?
Haven’t watched since Season 13.

Haven’t watched it for a few years. Only recently realised the new season got out recently.

Idk, there are shitty episodes but there are always some hilarious one’s, even in the worst seasons.

Was hoping Gyokered might have a similar impact on us… :santi:

Moroccan football on the rise. Congrats @SRCJJ

The World Cup in 22 will help so much too because it convinced a lot of European born Moroccan players to pick Morocco first so now we’re finding players that would traditionally have tried to get into France, Belgium or Netherlands first just go to Morocco.
