Picked Sterling but in the interests of transparency I’m biased.
That’s funny because that’s kinda the root of the question.
Was chatting to someone(non-Arsenal fan) at work today about football and he told me Sane would be perfect for Arsenal and how he’s such a good player.
I told him Sane’s shit. For no particular reason I said I’d even take Sterling over him and he got really offended that I’d put Sterling in the same conversation as Sane.
Anyway, we kept going back and forth about it for a good 20 mins of our lunch break and one of the last things he told me was that I’m the only person in the world that would take Sterling over Sane.
Btw, probably one for “you know what really grinds my gear” but I fucking hate it when non-Arsenal fans try to act all smart about Arsenal.
The thing that really pissed me off with this dude is that he didn’t suggest Sane so he can play on the left, he suggested Sane because he thinks Saka dropped off last season and he thinks Sane would displace him.
Fuck Sane man. Sterling’s been shit too since signing for Chelsea but at least he’s got the excuse of playing for a ridiculously unorganized football club and being surrounded by children.
Sane plays in a much better team at Bayern and he hasn’t done shit there. He hasn’t done shit for Germany either.
Dude gets away with it so easily.
You definitely aren’t the only one who’d pick Sterling. Sane honestly looks just as washed if not more so and at least Sterling is still playing in the PL.
Everything I’ve seen of current Sane is a bit of pace-merchanting, no end product and terrible decision-making.
10 goals and 13 assists for Sane isn’t terrible but I feel like he blows a few every game.
After watching the first half of Madrid v Chelsea yesterday, I might have to reconsider my vote.
Sterling really is fucking awful.
I can’t believe these are the same two dudes wreak havoc for City at one point and helped them become centurions.
Pepe has retired from football.
yaaaaaaaay
Retired while still on top level.
Respect. It looked as if he was able to continue on this level until he was 50 lol
Played on mad level against us.
I actually liked his shithousery vs Barca in peak Pep vs Mourinho days.
Yeah, he was a bit psychotic at time, still a brilliant defender and one of the best in the past decade.
Didn’t he only just sign for Villarreal?
will miss his glorious head shape.
No comment on that lol
That’s one of the nastiest things you could ever see on a football pitch
Fuck I’ve only just seen this, came to post the same thing. Can’t believe he’s done it now after the season he just had both for Porto and Portugal, still had it in him and was the standout player at the back for both when I saw him.
Whatever people think of his time at Madrid, he’s a legend for them and Portugal. Unreal player, brought a bit of a show with him and tbh I always quite enjoyed it.
Thought we’d be seeing the 84 year old Pepnaldo combination in 2026 but maybe neither will make it after all.
What’s crazy is he has the third most caps for Portugal despite his career. In which I just discovered Joao Moutinho has been capped 146 times? Wtf.
Damn, I know we all have our own views on him but I think the pressure that came with that 72m price tag definitely made it difficult. He did score some great goals for us and he’s probably a nice bloke outside of football too. Wishing him all the best with his next step in life.
Guess the footballer…
