Never will there be a player with that combination of strength, pace and touch. Oddly, CR7 is probably the closest we’ve seen in terms of physique but he doesn’t come close to R9 in terms of just downright bullying defenders like they’re little bitches.
These compilation videos always make it look like R9 is playing against an U15s team. He just dominates players like they’re made out of polystyrene. That burst of acceleration to get through tight gaps in defences is mind boggling from a player of his size and strength.
And I can’t think of a player who was as good at taking the ball around the keeper as him either.
He is the greatest pure striker of all time, even if his peak was relatively short lived. He did enough in those few years to show that he is the greatest.
