Just caught the end of Premier League Years 97/98.
What memories. As much as I wanted Arsène gone at the end, it was so nice to be reminded of the utterly fantastic times he also brought us. He will be remembered extremely fondly in the years to come.

…At the start of that season, Frimpong and Nasri faced Liverpool as team-mates. It was only Frimpong’s second league appearance for the club. After putting in an impressive 70 minutes, the 19-year-old was sent off for a second bookable offence with the match still goalless and Arsenal ended up losing 2-0.
“Nobody needs to tell me that what I did was stupid,” says Frimpong. “Nobody needs to tell me. I mean, I was a professional footballer, you know?
“After the game, everybody came into the changing room and Arsene was quiet, you know. Obviously, he was disappointed about the result but he was quiet. He didn’t talk, and then Nasri basically stood up in front of everybody and said we lost the game because of me.
“OK, I can understand that, but I was thinking, ‘Why would somebody — especially me playing, I think that was like my second game — why would any professional do that to a young player in that kind of moment?”
After a joke on social media…

Frimpong is one I wish we could forget had played for us.
Shit attitude and can easily see why players wouldn’t like him.
I think his knees ruined him more than anything else. I don’t think he’d ever have made it at Arsenal but he had potential to be an upper Championship / lower PL club level player but his body just didn’t hold up.
I kind of liked his attitude. He was a vocal presence, a real Arsenal fan and he battled hard whenever he played.

Frimpong was one of my ‘what ifs’
People are not high on him especially with his dench bullshit but he was really good whenever he played for us & Wolves and then the injury got to him.
Everyone loved Frimpong.
He didn’t have a shit attitude, just didn’t have enough drive to cope with his injuries and lost motivation after his second tendon injury.
