Dunno about Spotify and Barca but we must have definitely boosted the Emirates recognition, especially early on.
It’s a bit wild how synonymous we are to them now.

Boosted in terms of brand recall? or flight sales?
I know for sure people won’t spend more money to fly with Emirates just because they are Arsenal fans. Flight decisions are based on price, duration, and layover period.
These kind of deals should have been happening many years ago, finally but slowly we are getting there.
Hopefully we hear more deals during the summer.
Easy visibility for a company.
It’s brand recognition. Emirates wasn’t that popular in the mid-2000s.
Got to imagine you lose money initially but the long term benefit is felt even after the naming rights expires. The Gazprom and The Barclays are now just shorthand names for those competitions they sponsored
NGL, my early childhood was in the 90s when JVC and Sharp were sponsoring Arsenal and Man U respectively and my dad deliberately bought JVC stuff over Sharp
Have you ever bought Sharp?
Most Arsenal supporters wouldn’t buy Sharp for the same reason they didn’t buy Holsten.
That’s why it’s strange that sponsors put so much money into clubs knowing that they’ll alienate all the supporters of rival clubs from the product they’re advertising.
That was the point I was gonna make haha
you know, every jersey, tops, tracksuits, team merchandise, sponsor’s name is displayed everywhere.
sounds like they pay a lot of money but they are really selling their brand globally.
you put money commercials, like Superbowl, but there is only a very limited of time.
you purchase an ad time on TV, probably last 3 months? 6? only in certain areas/districts/countries?
If you sign a long term contract with a team that has appearance globally, for them, it is a good business. The whole world can see it.
A lot of times, the money they invest on ads, is like a separate reserve aside from the operation budget. The money is there, you either use it or write it off.
After all these years, you guys still remember (most) the sponsors on Arsenal shirts, even from 20, 30 years ago, right?
That worth the investment already.
O2 over Vodafone for me
Should show him the picture of getting medics, putting ice on, or on treatment table, not a picture of running.
Very misleading if just by looking at pictures.
JVC doesn’t resonate much these days.
I got my first phone contract on O2 because they sponsored Arsenal
Memories still there, right?
I threw out pencil toppers from cereal boxes if they weren’t Arsenal.
Yep, hardcore.
Yup, still got the blue goalie shirt with the broad Adidas stripes and centre crest. And a short sleeve shirt, too. Probably worth a bit now.
Lovely
