Raheem Sterling (30)

Finacially it’s a great deal for us, but I don’t think it was too hard to pull this off. We just had to be be patient enough.

Chelsea literally had zero choice. They knew they had to offload him, they just waited for a better offer, which was very unlikely to arriwe.

Now what matters the most is that Arteta gets the best out of him. I’d love it if he could seriously push for the starting place, and not just be a squad player, a Nelson with more appearances.

Quite interested to see what he can offer to the team, and also such a strange feeling at the same time after watching him in this league for more than a decade.

Very excited about this deal. He’ll have something to prove with us. Previous working relationship with Arteta.

He’s miles better than Nelson.

And his G/As in most EPL seasons eclipse Martinelli’s and Jesus’s. He can play LW or RW, so that’s some cover for Saka + can share minutes with Trossard and Martinelli.

Would be great to win the EPL with him this season and then go in hard for some proper attackers next season.

I still think his end product is shite btw. Always has been since his Liverpool days, it wasn’t highlighted at City becat they used to create so much he’d eventually score or assist, especially once Pep got there. It was definitely highlighted more at Chelsea.

His biggest strength is his ball carrying and movement, even after regressing a bit physically.

Martinelli really has two great examples in Trossard and Sterling to follow now. Try and learn off some of the best aspects of those two and he’ll get to the next level. Don’t, and you’re getting the Tierney/Ramsdale/Xhaka/ESR treatment next summer.

I do feel unless he has a monster season martinelli is the next current starting player to get upgraded

185 G/As in the EPL. Second only to Salah. And two of those seasons were in the worst Chelsea side in about 30 years.

His end product is probably better than all of our front men combined.

That’s not because his end product is good, that’s because of how good he was at getting into the right positions so even if he missed a couple big chances every game, he’d eventually score or assist.

Martinelli doesn’t even get into the right positions anymore.

¡Comunicado Oficial! Welcome, Raheem! Do we reckon he will get the #10?

I would have killed for this even 2 years ago.

I hope there is still some juice left to squeeze

Think about it this way. If we have to switch things up in a CL match who would you rather have coming off the bench? Nelson or Sterling?

Correct.

Sterling is not a good finisher, however, found himself in n the right positions to score.

He does run in behind very well at least at City.

That’s my eye test impression too but he has scored 89 npg on 80 npxg in the league since they began tracking, which isn’t bad at all.

I’m hyped about this signing.

All aboard the Sterling train.
