It’s good to see that Theo is confident in himself, but I can’t see how he was more impactful/important that Cazorla, Ozil and Auba lol during his time here.
That’s why I said that was my first thought. And I have since watched the game and as clinical as we were, PSV were shocking in defense. We had lots of space to work with in the final 3rd but it was great to see us score so freely. That finishes from Trossard and Calafiori were sublime.
It is historic, that’s a fact. But I will put us beating the Galacticos (Zidane, Robinho, R9, Beckham, Roberto Carlos, Ramos, Guti, Casillas) at the Bernabeu or Inter Milan (Zanetti, Vierri, Materazzi, Cannavaro, Toldo, Martins) at the San Siro above this one.
Lol!
That West Ham result has just drained all enthusiasm and hope from me. That was just unacceptable, how a team 16th or 17th in the table, came to the Emirates and beat us. I cannot take this team seriously anymore.
That’s just it. I don’t enjoy these results anymore cause we don’t seem to go on and win trophies. Spurs routinely beat City, and perhaps that’s the highlight of their season. I expect a lot more from us.
Anyway, have been posting a lot lesser here cause I don’t want to dampen the mood of the place
PSV’s heads dropped very quickly and no doubt their defending descended into schoolboy levels at times. But Arsenal were far more fluid and progressive with their attacking play than in recent weeks and months. Created a lot and were clinical. Every opening was being pounced upon.
Ultimately it’s up to the team to prove doubters wrong and that was a great performance. Displayed that the will and commitment to fight for the Champions League is still there despite the circumstances. Boy did this club need to create even that slightest bit of hope and belief going into the rest of this season.
It’s a glimmer but I’ll take it right now. The miracle cup run is the only life left in our season.
All about the space tbh. When teams sit and defend we try the same stuff but the gaps are not there to make runs and play balls behind.
We won’t have anywhere near the same joy against United and so many fans will be like ‘huh? Why can’t we be consistent hurrrr durrr’.
PSV were amazingly naive. That game was exceptional for the lack of attention they apparently gave to preparing how to counter our strengths and then the lack of quality in their defensive play in any case. I’m almost tactically illiterate and even I could see that.
You’re absolutely right that it will be back to reality in the United game.
Not so sure about that. Coming off a 7-1 away win our tails should be up and just chomping at the bit for these fuckers.
