We are winning, my nightmares of losing to inter in the final still have to come true.
Can’t believe I’ve seen a few comments about people not being keen to watch or glad they’ll miss it ffs. It’s a fuckin CL semi final, the place we’ve begged to be for 20+ years.
Some will get the stench of hypocrisy here lol, given I’ve skipped out on a lot of league fixtures lately, but I’m struggling with the idea of people skipping this one.
It’s only the third CL semi final we’ve reached in my 30 years supporting the club, so something we only do once a decade on average, so it’s a must see for me.
I’d get it more if we’d lost the first leg by three goals and then had to go to Paris, but we are still bang in this. I think we probably will get eliminated today, but far, far, faaaaar stranger things have happened than us progressing to the final.
I’m not in work today and have decided clearing out the shed is the perfect way of distracting myself until kick off. No fucking way am i missing the game. I have a ticket for the Newcastle game ffs!
Just remember, we’re all Arsenal fans and the majority of us have been through much, much worse.
After that Saka injury most had written the season off but somehow we’ve reached the semi-finals of the CL, knocking Real Madrid along the way.
Football is unpredictable.
Looks like OA is sick of the disappointment and fair play. Easy to be blasé about it now but the reality will settle in hours before kick off that this is the greatest opportunity for European glory that Arsenal have had since 2006. And there’s no guarantee we’ll get this opportunity again any time soon. Potential sliding doors moment in the clubs history.
No matter what’s going on and how shit we are this is a huge moment and we must.
I just don’t know what to expect of this Arsenal team tonight .
We’re so depleted, have players on the brink of injury or only returning from injury, players in poor form and a manager that hasn’t managed to get his team playing to what the (foggin) standards have been set to I’m the last couple of seasons.
With that in mind, Arteta has got his teams to raise their games for these big matchups - first leg against PSG aside. Even with a goal deficit and the above noted, I expect this bunch to elevate themselves tonight no matter what.
Even with the above noted, guys like Rice, Partey, Saka, Saliba can be the difference makers and it’s a massive lift to have Thomas back in the team, for some shred of positivity. I think someone like Rice is excellent to have in this scenario because he has it in him to turn the switch on for these occasions. He’s not going to drop a 6/10 tonight and he will make sure of that.
Fuuuuuuuck I’m constantly flip-flopping what’s going to happen and have so much work to be getting on with too!
This drove me mad last week. It was constant. You have to give fans something to get behind.
I see one of them do it to our away fans who’ve travelled out at massive expense knowing what they’re likely to see and I will definitely give watching us a miss for the rest of the season.
I’m just preparing myself for disappointment. If we had showed any fight in the last two league games I would be more optimistic.
Don’t want to be knee jerk as I’ve already flip flopped on the manager but this really should be a milestone moment for Mikel and he should be judged by his performance this season especially in this match.
You live by the fogging estandards you die by the fogging estandards.
