I don’t think that is completely accurate. I use the terms fries and chips depending on the thickness. So in McDonald’s for example, I’d order “fries”, but yeah we never call crisps “potato chips”.

Have you not duly noted that crisps are in fact quite quite crisp?

Chips are called chips because they are potatoes that are put in a potato chipper, hence chips

That’s only because it’s an American restaurant though. I think the french call them fried potatoes.

Yeah, but if I went to America and saw all your smoked ribs. Big steaks milk shakes and actual good Mexican food. Id be mr diabetes

Meal sizes in the states are unreal, I remember when I spent 4 weeks in the US in 2013 I rarely finished my meals.

Can’t be believe every sauce under the sun has been mentioned but vinegar was left out!

Chips + Salt + Vinegar, that’s the true combination plus chilli sauce if your feeling a bit flash.
