Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Not even a contest, RvP

I agree he was probably the last combative midfielder we’ve had that wasn’t a complete void in creativity. Yes sometimes his positioning was a little suspect but I remember that period where he was putting them scooped through balls on a plate for RVP to smash home. He wasn’t a perfect midfielder but he was certainly enjoyable and akin to Partey for me. I’d take that style of player all day everyday over your dead end types like Elneny, Xhaka, Denilson and Coquelin.

RVP was my favourite player since we moved to the Emirates so it has to be him.
But neither him or Aubameyang played in front of Ozil, Sanchez and Cazorla and that’s why we didn’t win the PL title.

As a club, we have had elite strikers like Smith, Wright, Anelka, Henry, RVP and Aubameyang, so to see us with Lacazette and Nketiah shows how far our standards have dropped.

rank these names in terms of overall impact and Arsenal Legacy

Henry
Smith
RVP
Wright
Auba
Anelka

Fair?

You did not just put RvP ahead of Wright.

Wright stakes a claim to be no.1 on that list. Not 4th

I do have recency bias, Wright def not my era

I’ll let you off (I think)

This really is your version of ā€œfetchā€

I’m trying it out…

Is it the best way to minimise goals scored against lesser opposition? I don’t think so

Why is Smith second then?

Smith above Wright is just beyond outrageous, I didn’t even clock that at first lol

RVP was a better pure striker but I think I’d go Auba over RVP if I was choosing a team because Persie was always fucking injured. Has Auba missed a game for us due to injury? Don’t think so, he was always available. If RVP had the sturdiness if Auba we’d have been challenging much more during his time cuz he was that good.

The question was at their best though. He obviously wasn’t at his best when injured.

I think Smith based on how he was rated when he was playing should be there.

I’ve consumed alot of media and heard stories about the Arsenal in the 80’s too

Well I said it’s RVP because he’s a more well rounded player. But in reality if you are building a team the injury thing would be a major factor. I’ll take the 100 goals in 150 matches guy who’s never injured all day over RVP’s crocked ass.

It really was a bad move for him. His career totally nose dived from then on. Check his record out its a complete waste.

We don’t even need Nasri.

If the cunt was not injured the whole of 07/08, we would have won the league.
Heck if we even had Giroud instead of Persie at the time, we would have won, we just needed a competent striker.

Van Cunt is easier on the eyes but …was too injury prone, Auba has made 38+ app every season since 2010/11 as well as being able to play RW/LW/ST. His goalscoring record is also amazing if people take a look bro.

We had one, just got his leg snapped.

Although Wrightey is my second favourite as a legend you’d argue Smudger contributed more in terms of title wins.

Taking the liking out of it, I’d rank my modern era forwards as

Henry
Bergkamp
Wright/Smith equal third
Van Purse strings (when fit)
Anelka
Kevin Campbell
Alexis
Oli G
Twatabuyour
Charlie Nickyourarse

Eduardo (before injury)
Sylvain Wiltord
Wankyou Kanu
Tony Woodencock
Auba (marked down a lot due to his new contract phase disaster and being my current hate figure)
Lacashitter
Theo Wallcoot
John Hartattackson

As they were wide players I haven’t included pires and Freddie in the mix.
