I don’t think loaning him was an option until very late in the window.
At the time, Arsenal were trying to use him as makeweight for the Aouar and Partey deals.
Apparently, many sides were interested in him but he was incredibly picky himself. IIRC, it was reported that he was waiting for the big boys to come in for him if he was to move on a permanent.
Given the state of the market no big side was gonna spend big on Guendouzi if they didn’t really need him. Especially after that report from The Athletic making him out to be some kind of cancer to the club.
Yeah because Arteta is a fucking forehead and tanked his value lmaoooo that’s been my point from the start. Valued at 50m in December and he’s slowly lost about half that value because Arteta is a bad manager, but also aired out the grievances publicly and made him look bad.
Camavinga who’s the new hot name around is also losing value because the team he plays for can’t score, last year as a team who qualified for the CL his value was sky high, so these guys value depends on now the team does and Arteta was worse than emery for a good year
I’d rather have two players valued at 50m than one and we could have had both. Arteta is a stubborn moron, Guendo is superior to every midfielder on our team not named Partey and he could have gotten better performances out of this team if he’d simply played our best players.
That’s great so once again our assets are halved because Guendo and Saliba should be retaitining their value under a proper manager and also playing alongside Saka and ESR, we should have 4 doods who’s value are sky rocketing, not just two. Actually 5 because Nelson was sacrificed for Willian
And btw Saka is valued at 65m which is great but has little to do with Arteta who insisted on playing him as a wing back for the majority of the season until he was forced to use him properly
Alot of Saka’s best performances this season have come from the right.
Who chose to put him on the right? When we have other options like Pepe? And hasn’t he been playing on the left for England.
IIRC he first played on the right against Wolves last season when he scored but wasn’t too involved otherwise. Then this season he has had exceptional games there.
Having the danger of KT and Saka on opposite wings was an idea that Arteta used this season, it wasn’t “forced” on him or whatever you are trying to spin.
So Saka’s stock continued to rise when he had consistently strong performances and contributions from the right. It made him undroppable from there at times, to Pepe’s expense (+ the Willian issue)
I wish Pepe had a longer run of starts, but player value fluctuates based on competition and circumstance, and Saka’s would rise due to solid faith from Arteta… So back to my point - why is it forced and not just faith?
Congo shoukd have a solid team.
They have a few current/former Premier League players.
Who does Gabon have other than Auba? I can only think Lemina from Fulham.
