Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Not in the order a lot of people picture it. Aubameyang is bad because the team is bad. The team is not bad because Aubameyang is bad because his mentality and commitment are shit because of a new contract.

Maybe on paper last seasons side was worse, but in practice I’d say this seasons is, personally. Arteta had us performing worse in the first half of the season than Emery did the season before. I remember the stats showing that Arteta had fewer points, more losses, fewer chances created, fewer goals scored etc at the point of the season at which Emery was fired the season before.

For most of this season, at least the first half of it, Aubameyang has been playing in a worse Arsenal side imo, one that was less creative and more disjointed in an attacking sense. I think this definitely has an impact on Aubameyang’s output.

This is not to say that he has no responsibility for his own form or that his attitude has been positive the whole time, because he has and it hasn’t.

I’m just not so sure we can really look at this season and claim Aubameyang is playing in a better side and should therefore be matching last year’s output. I think for much of this season this has been a worse team for a poacher to play in, not a better one.

So disappointing on the pitch but I don’t think it’s because he doesn’t care. Should have come off 10 mins before he did tbh.

i really feel we should sell him if we can get a decent amount put that money to odegaard put martinelli in the striker position and get some up and coming striker like that guy from the championship Toney or Edouard etc. before anyone says ā€˜you would swap auba for an unproven’ what has this schmuck done for us this season, get a striker that at least puts in an effort.

I was so confused when I saw him celebrating the goal as I was like he was just subbed!? :joy::joy:

Auba really should move on, the dirt pounder sold him a bill of goods as he does to everyone like the fraud he is, and then proceeds to consistently play him out of position in a disjointed team. Forehead will be ostracizing him soon enough for football reason in an attempt to get his contract off the books :joy::joy:

Theres no way this guy is going anywhere on the contract he’s now on, no way. Just hope he doesn’t turn into Ɩzil MKII.

Out of position my ass.
He’s been playing striker the past months and he’s been incredibly inconsistent.
Either way, he’s our captain and is getting paid heftily.
Even if he is told to play as a goalkeeper then he should play as a fucking goalkeeper and give his all.

He’s played upfront, he starts on the left and still drifts centrally and has been terrible in both positions. He’s had a shocking season.

We’re up shit creek without a paddle if this guy doesn’t get back on it.

Really disappointing this last week and it plays out so badly with his huge new contract making him very hard to now move on.

Hope he can get his shit together or we’re fucked without a top goal scorer next season.

With Lacazette scoring more and up and coming youngsters this guy could end up becoming an expensive bench warmer.

If Aubameyang is not scoring goals, it’s hard to justify selecting him.

Versus Tottenham, the link-up between Tierney and ESR was great to see and probably won us the game. Martinelli is also starting to put pressure on Auba’s place on the left side. The only position we can play him is at #9 and Lacazette arguably provides more from that position.

Yeah if you consider Vardy’s work rate today and moving defenders about it’s still contributing.

Shame I can’t see anyone wanting him with the wages he’s on

Maybe in a swap deal*, but that’s unrealistic.

*(I want Eden Hazard).

While he’s been playing as a striker he caught up to Lacas goal talley within the first few matches lmaooo as @Flexo said we should not be playing Auba on the left as I’ve been preaching all season we should have a real winger there, yet Arteta keeps doing the same shit. Why? I guess in order to accommodate Laca who’s always been a mediocre fucking player. Another perfect example of why we are mid table, maybe Laca can get 15 goals this season and be on the same level as Giroud :joy::joy::joy:
