No reason for Gabon to give a fuck if he’s played on the left, he’s not a young player, it won’t stunt his development. Him nominally playing from the left for us will have no negative impact on how effective a centre forward he’ll be for Gabon.
Is that that publication that can’t even give subscriptions away these days?
Should stick to rummaging through Roy Keane’s primary school teacher’s bins.
That post was a beg for likes, just pls give me the like :bellcry:
So he’s 30 right?
If Scholesy and Shearer can retire from England you can retire from Gabon you bugger. :bellerin:
Calm down Graham
What is that got to do with it? Your just obsessed about playing him in the middle when its proven he does a just as good if not better job on the left
It was a beg for likes, just give him a like
Being serious, it’s not really proven.
I assume (because I’ve not got a subscription I can’t access the full article) it shows that he has better numbers when playing on the left than when he plays in the middle.
But there are so many confounding factors there, like for example the manager we had at the time.
I can’t find the statistical case for Auba being better in the middle but by the eye test he is pretty bad on the wing in any case, and a big reason for why we struggle to break teams down and can’t score goals.
He’s played almost every game in our attack yet we scored fuck all goals. So either he’s shit or something’s up.
Also Klopp and Tuchel’s judgement > Wenger, Emery and Arteta’s.
I’d much prefer to see Auba playing centrally, if only in the theoretical sense of preferring to see him flanked by two quality wide players. But in the absence of quality wide players, I’d have no problem with him playing from the left, I’m not convinced it stunts the amount of opportunities he gets to score. The reason it sucks is when it’s done to accommodate a non scoring, off form Lacazette.
Nice how you ignore that our AMF is a useless corpse disguised as a footballer.
I’ve already mentioned him many many times, if I don’t criticise him with every breath then I’m ignoring it???
But yes that is also another confounding factor, that the number 10 is very shit these days.
Top priority for this summers transfer window will be to keep Auba…given the state of the world we don’t know how long the transfer window will be and its unclear whether clubs will have as much money to spend. These factors may help us fend off approaches for Auba and give us the ability to offer a new contract which he will sign.
Ozil’s and Auba’s contracts both expire next summer. We are not going to renew Ozil’s, or if we did, it isn’t going to be anywhere near what we are paying in salary now.
If we want to keep Auba…we will have £350K per week in savings from our wages buget next summer that we can throw at Auba. We have the money if we want to keep him.
Yep - but next time he kicks a ball in a real game he’ll be 31.
If we’re lucky!
Why is it stupid? Van Nistelrooij went to Real Madrid aged 30 and took a few League winners medals with him. His latter years at Real were derailed by injuries, but it can still be worth it for him too.
For Gabon it would mean exposure and prestige.
I looked up my old GCSE maths textbook, and because he’s 30 but closer to 31, we round up the whole thing and he’s actually 40 years old.
Sell the old bastard imo
He’s the best striker not in the world not involved in the CL for another season very likely.
Last possible money move too. Plenty of reasons to leave really.
He explained why:

I mean it isn’t like Auba is going to kick into a another gear playing for Gabon, vaulting them up the international ranks by switching from AFC to Real or Barca or Bayern at 31 (this summer).
How does Gabon actually benefit from him playing for Real/Barca?
No one would give a shit about Gabon even if Messi was born there
‘Gabon’ sounds like a greeting rather than a country’s name.
Arsenal need to out Gabon for the shithole it is
