Merse is a bigger legend than Auba ever will be.

It’s not even debateable.

He came through our youth ranks, played here 12 seasons, scored almost 100 goals, was a part of Anfield 89 as well as other league, cup and european successes.

I hope his response was simply to answer a question he was asked - “would he be a good fit for Man Utd?”

He’s said nothing untoward in that. Couldn’t argue with it.

Auba on the middle, Bet we put 4 past spurs

I agree…the guy can hardly string a sentence together!

If we pay Auba the money he wants…he’ll stay. Keeping him should be our biggest priority in the summer transfer window.

”I don’t want to say that Arsenal aren’t ambitious, but Arsenal don’t have ambitions as high as some other clubs as far as Europe is concerned," Mounguengui told ESPN.

"So if Pierre could secure a contract with a more ambitious club, he’d definitely find his place there.

“On an individual level, we all consider him to be among the best players in the world, but the advice I give to him is to continue to work and to attract the attention of the biggest clubs and the most ambitious clubs.”

Times are bad when you’re being smack talked by Gabon.

Given his age and stature internationally, it really is a stupid statement and not something they should be weighing in on at all, unless that was at the request of Auba or his agent to take pressure off of him (which is also stupid, b/c this summer will be the optimal summer of all summers to leave quietly)…

I mean it isn’t like Auba is going to kick into a another gear playing for Gabon, vaulting them up the international ranks by switching from AFC to Real or Barca or Bayern at 31 (this summer).

How old is Auba?

31 in June.

At the moment I’m thinking it doesn’t matter one bit if we lose any one our starting 11, so can’t say I care too much about these comments. Football seems a world away right now which doesn’t help

Part of me thinks, fck it. Let’s sell. Henry lost it at 31. Auba won’t be a 30 goal a season striker for much longer

He relies more on positioning than Henry ever did though, bodes well for longevity I’d say.

I guess they see that we have him out wide to make way for a dancer and have concluded that we are not a serious club.

Can’t blame them.
