He’s shite at that position anyway. Gets more goals when Laca is on.
He waited for the big move and it never materialised so fell back to the money and change of scenery.
Fully understandable.
Tbh the most confident we have looked in attack all season was when Freddie lined up the fluid front 3 of Gab-Auba-Pepe.
"TOP FOOTBALLER MOTIVATED BY MONEY SHOCKER."
It has been revealed by an unnamed Borussia Dortmund executive, that a footballer moved to another club because he wanted more money than he was already earning.
In another unbelievable statement, an insider from the club said that he didn’t think Aubameyang grew up supporting Arsenal and that he only went there to earn more.
It is understood that this is the first time this has happened and that all other footballers aren’t interested in money at all.
Yeah, could you imagine?? It’s not like football was their job or something…
All this defending of Aubameyang and his motives is all well and good, but, he’s friends with infamous AFTV cretin Troopz, so in reality is probably a bit of a dick
Not really. That was sub-par performance and a very lucky result. West Ham commiting harakiri in that match won’t cover it. It showed as much in the next performances.
Those examples aside, it’s probably fair to say that if PEA leaves us at the age of 31, his best footballing years are behind him
He isn’t exactly the same, he has proved himself in the EPL scoring the most goals in the league since he signed for us.
He scored 31 goals in his last full season at BVB what I meant was everyone knew how good a striker he was when we signed him and we got a free run at him. I don’t see why the Spanish big two would change there mind now.
Aging Suarez, Benzema, no Ronaldo. Auba would probably hit 35 goals in la Liga if they gave him the service.
Before it made no sense for those clubs, now it does.
You may well be right and he is 2 years older now, I’m just saying he’s not the same, Auba has now proven he can score at an elite level in the EPL.
Someone like Lacazette for example who was scoring at an elite level in his last couple of seasons in France, hasn’t translated that to arguably the toughest league in the world.
Gone from 31 goals to 22 goals a season, his stock hasnt risen and hes older, you’re correct. Imo
Bit rich for Watzke to complain about Auba moving for money as if they didn’t just pay Erling Haaland’s dad a few million pounds and toss another (allegedly) ten million at Mino to secure that signing.
Auba has more goals than Salah since he joined Arsenal according to the stats SRCJJ posted. He’s honestly keeping our heads above water
This is strawman. did anybody actually read the full quote beyond the headline?
Watzke’s contention was that Auba moved for money in spite competing at the highest level and missing out on the big stage would bother him down the line.
Couple years on auba is now looking (allegedly) for a club in the CL that can compete for trophies? If that is actally true Watzke would be completely right. There’s nothing more embarrassing than wasting your prime years at a steadliy regressing EL club
Getting caught having a tug by a parent/sibling is probably a tad more embarrassing.
Anything you need to get off your chest Sham? :pepe1:
Anything you need to get off your chest
You’re giving me too much credit.
No one knows how Aubameyang is going to age. Yes he’s a good athlete, but these things can go both ways, it could be that without that little bit of explosion his performance decreases a lot, or he starts to pick up injuries.
We should learn our lesson from Özil. Most of thought Özil was the more likely of the two (with Alexis) to hold his performance into his early 30s, and look where we are.
It’s a massive risk to sign him to a long term contract, and not one worth making since we have a nice CF prospect in Martinelli (for once) and we are not a team making a serious run at anything but 4th place in the next couple of years. I would either go with Laca and Martinelli as our main striking options next season in hope we can drum up a market for Laca instead of selling low this summer, or sell Laca as well and replace him with another young striker.
Supreme athletes tend to age a bit better and Auba is absolutely a world class stud in that aspect
Ozil has been a lazy jogging smoker for years and while Alexis dropped off a cliff he was always a player with stupid decision making who would salvage a game of 20 mistakes with 1 moment of brilliance.
