Yeah there is no assurance or maturity in his play. It’s very scrappy and the play can go either way with him.

Yes, although yesterday was one of his better games.

Woah. That’s so harsh lol

Overall for his first season he’s adapted pretty well. One thing I like about South Americans is they have that natural aggression, which suits the Premier League. So they tend to adapt quite quickly.

He’s definitely an odd one. My opinion is that this is similar to Big Gabi when he first joined us. He was everything we expect of a front footed CB and all of negative traits that come with it. He’s since ironed them out and become a monster defender.

Hincapie has those early traits but looks somewhat clunky.

I think he’s been fantastic in his first season.

He has Gabi and Saliba to learn from as well, which I’m sure will accelerate his development.

Defensively very good. I was actually expecting a bit more from him offensively, pretty sure I read it was one of his strengths at Leverkusen. But maybe it’s something he’ll develop in his second season here.

Been really good since his return. Calafiori is still clear but those recent Timber performances at LB alongside MLS made me appreciate Hincapie more.

Hincapie has all the raw attributes of a top defender. His attitude in particular is fierce. He loves the battle.

Under the tutelage of Arteta / Heinze, he will soon become a fully fledged member of our defensive Uruk Hai.

There’s so much to learn being an Arteta LB. I imagine it really complicates how you process the basics like positioning, when to move into space, when to press etc.

It takes time but he’s growing in confidence and reliability. We all absolutely adore Calafiori but let’s not forget he was getting roasted by a lot of fairly average wingers last season, and Myles has struggled to reach the same level this season. It’s the same with Hincapie. Takes time to master the left back role in our system. What I have seen, I really, really like so far. I accept there will be growing pains as he adapts to this unique role.

Wtf is that comparison lol

That’s a bit much. Not that he played THAT good, neither is he THAT bad usually to be that surprised by his decent performance.

The tweet is also from 2 months ago lol

Ohh, makes more sense now

Been putting in good delivery all night and was one of his offerings signing as a LB option in general. Finally got some rewards.

His best game for us so far.

Very good today.

So good

I don’t mean to bash him as he was one of our better players, but their first is not him. Not entirely, because Madueke and Saka showed ZERO aggression in the build up, but Piero leaving al that space for Bueno is criminal. He should have closed him down immediately, instead he intentionally left him all that space to shoot.

Fact is, we let so many wonder goals in because we don’t close down players, we seem to be happy to leave them shooting distance because we operate on a frequence where it is assumed long distance goals don’t happen.
