:joy: I knew that was coming

To be fair Copenhagen is a weird one, it’s a very middle class city with not much socio-economic diversity.

The overwhelming majority of the city’s neighbourhoods are like Fulham with a couple of “bad” neighbourhoods but nothing even slightly comparable to the deprivation found in London.

We were supposed to visit Copenhagen and then Mims (my partner) got pregnant, then we were going to go after the baby was born but realized we’d actually miss her and leaving a 3mo old was a bad call…then we were supposed to visit in the spring and COVID hit. :xhaka:

Nice to hear it’s actually affordable.

@Cristo if Mims and I ever make it, we can meet up. Bring your mermaid. We’ll fuck shit up.

Come in the summer!

I’m biased obviously, but in the summer time it is quite genuinely one of the best cities in the world.

The state has spent literally billions of dollars on infrastructure projects like 16 new metro stations, loads of new bridges, incredible “beaches” on the canals and water as well as cleaning the water in the canals which has breathed so much life into the city and really brought people out of their homes and into the city.

Couple that with a huge student population of several hundred thousand (universities and high schoolers) out of 1.2m and the city is really buzzing and alive.

The exchange rate with the DKK and USD is actually really favourable right now so not a bad time to go!

But yeah “affordable” might not be the term for it :joy: But “not more expensive than London” is still decent I guess haha

I’ve only been to Copenhagen for a day trip for a Rovers game so I obviously didn’t get to see much of the place but it struck me as a properly, planned, organised Dublin. Just had that fun vibe about it (yes I was surrounded by a few hundred Irishmen and women on the piss but still).

The Danish police gave us all an escort to Parken for the game. That walk was a lot of fun, the cops were great.

Parken is a genuinely beautiful football stadium.

Yeah good thanks, I can’t complain to be honest!

How’s Sweden?

Also how amazing is it your forum is still going all these years later with so many old timers around?

Sweden is alright thanks. Just boring times, hoping this epidemic will fade away!

Yeah, it IS amazing that its still up running. And Im truly glad I didnt sell it but gave it to Shill. Noone could have cared for it better! Of course I know Blink and Fabs meant a lot for the site as well (but legally i transferred it to Shill) and all the mods etc etc. I didnt want it to be changed or filled with ads and it still isnt, after all these years. Its really nice seeing so many old regulars still here too!

That’s amazing, I didn’t realise there were offers to buy!

Definitely would not be the same place if it had been sold, like you say it would be riddled with adverts and arbitrary rules.

Yeah we’re all pretty lucky to be fair, and we like it just how it is.

Yeah, it was some sort of business who emailed me about it but like you said, it wouldnt be the same. OA has a soul dammit!!! Even if we had mods i still wanted it to be pretty free and a little bashin n smashin… haha And I hated all these pop up ads that became more and more common on different forums at the time. Back then Onlinearsenal came up as nr 1 in Google search when you searched for arsenal forums. Not bad, aye? haha

That’s how I found OA back in 2009!!

I googled Arsenal forum and this was the first hit, and here I am 11 years later :joy:

Really? I thought you joined in the beginning (2003). You feel like an old timer. haha But yeah, good times!

Who is the longest standing active member?

Yeah 2009 is my join date! I’ll take that though.

I think @SRCJJ and @JakeyBoy joined around 2004
