A brilliant day on Croatian coast today, in Split to be precise…

Found this oldie from 2016.

Me and my wife, Jen, had recently moved to LA.

Jen works for a tech company - one of those companies that has a lot of fun things to do around their offices.

A number of Arsenal players turned up to play around on the VR and other stuff, so Jen got me in too so I could meet up with a few of them. I got to chat with Petr.

El Neny was also there, mentioning a group of younger players.

Both 2016 and 2019 were fun times for the Arsenal touring in LA.

Nice! I’m going to Split on Friday. Then Zadar a week later.

Any recommendations?

That last pic looks a bit like Santa Monica beach, if you don’t pay too much attention to the superior architecture.

She bears striking resemblance to ex Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech.

I haven’t been around there much tbh not sure what recommend really. Only spent half a day there.

Everybody would recommend Diocletian’s palace in the centre of Split. Had a walk there, it was fun. The beach I went too was nice although it isn’t nowhere near the best beaches in Croatia (the standard is pretty high though :slightly_smiling_face: ).

Was A BIT unpleasantly surprised when we walked down the “Riva”, a famous walking place just by the sea (also just by the palace above).
Almost threw up when I catched the smell… Apparently they have some problems with the sewer that’s kinda just arount that place and leaking into the sea I guess… I can’t wrap my head around how a town like Split, one of the biggest tourist centres in this part of Europe is allowing that to happen in the main area of the town ffs.

I have to visit Zadar soon too, from what I heard and seen driving around it it should be better than Split. The Novigrad beach that belongs to the area of Zadar looks freaking awesome.

I’d recommend you to visit Šibenik if ypu have the cance, it’s right about halway between Split and Zadar. On of the nicest towns on coast too.

I’m planning to visit Omiš on the next weekend probably. About 15 minutes south down the road from Split. Just drove through it the other day and loved it.

Nice shirt. My hipster sons love to go there and spend a bunch of $.

Of course, there’s a Hattie B’s close by…

I used to spend all my money at Wuxtry in Decatur, but liked heading over to L5P. I amassed around 15 cubic boxes of vinyl in the four years I lived in the Atlanta area, and got to know record store employees pretty well.

Cost of shipping it to LA was insane, but was fortunate to have a contact that helped out.

I’ll miss record shopping in Atlanta, but look forward to checking out some of the places in LA. Amoeba is a pretty cool place.

A little bit more trim back them.

I’m a fatter, lazier bastard these days. A result of no longer playing sport, and living in America for around eight years.

Mammoth of a man, not many people out there that can say they are bigger and taller than Cech.

I was lucky enough to bump into my wife, Jen, twice in the space of just a few days.

What are the odds?

@Mondo and @JakeyBoy both rocking the beards. Very impressive! When I grow mine I can never get it as bushy or well groomed…maybe we need a beard thread for tips :grinning:
