Pep is transformational in terms of tactics. Managerial offsprings have been borne out of his football. So he is great in that regards.
His trophies though…asterisk.

It’s true that Guardiola has had plenty of money to spend at the clubs he’s been at but the consistency and quality of the way his teams play is the best.
No club he’s managed has achieved the same level of success after he left so when he leaves Man City their form will dip like it did with Barcelona and Bayern Munich when he left them.
Like him or not, Guardiola is in a league of his own when it comes to success and he has done it playing good football, that’s why we need him to leave Man City when FFP do their job properly.
I think Pep is the best manager of all time. The City’s 115 charges is a massive asterisk though. But remember, it only counts for the years 2009-2018.
Pep didn’t join City until 2016/17 season no? So the vast majority of his successes there are legit, until we hear otherwise.
EDIT: I’ve just seen there’s 35 additional charges for failure to comply with the Premier League’s investigations, but that seems to be at the club’s level?
Pep seems to be a person where trouble follows. Barca stuff was levelled at him and then they found dodgy stuff was going on at Bayern and now at City. Somehow he is innocent and doesn’t know any of these dodgy things are happening
If they did not buy success and improve their squad and foundation, would Pep consider City?
City had a darn good squad and won the league before Pep’s arrival.
good point… they must’ve given him some out-worldly assurances to convince him to come.
A club that had a blank check for you to operate was not attractive enough?
yups, that plus likely free reign to make all decisions on player transfers without question.
don’t get me wrong, Pep certainly is a great coach/manager; but if you check his pattern, after Barca he picked Bayern, then City.
He is not the type to rebuild a club.
yeah, I don’t think he would pick Arsenal in the financial position we were back in 2016/17.
that’s why @Aussiegooner and I (and a few) were crying for Klopp.
Klopp would’ve been perfect for us during that period for sure. But I can’t see the club ever telling Wenger to leave - especially after winning the FA Cup after 9 barren years.
yeah, it was unfortunate.
Klopp was never coming to Arsenal - Wenger left behind a lazy group of big ego players. Only reason we are doing better now is because Arteta was allowed to cull the squad and start over essentially.
Wenger endured that for the last few years of his time at Arsenal (or created it). Klopp needs hard workers for his pressing style. Arsenal were not prepared to press reset immediately after Wenger…
Post Wenger, no big manager was joining us, we were a shambles
at least we should try, but did not.
anyway, probably you are right, he would not come anyway.
Fuck this guy. Bald af.
Only 3 managers have managed to win a league title against him.
Mourinho, Conte and Klopp.
All of them only achieved that once.
Fuck me. Alien.
And two of those were also employed by Spurs
