Agreed with the above. City will eventually win 12-15 games in a row, but now they won’t get an automatic 6 points against us
They probably need to play Spurs and/or Villa very soon. Play these teams on the crest of a wave and they may lose and fall further behind.
They were only 2 points worse off than last season before the United game and we haven’t made the same start as last season.
KDB will be back at some point that will sprinkle that extra quality to the team
Still a crazy hard task to pip them but the chance is there as long as we keep the pace
Guardiola is in a league of his own so when he leaves, Man City will automatically be at a disadvantage because not only is he the best manager, he also has a massive pull for players they want to buy.
They’ve already got FFP looking at them so without Guardiola and two world class players for every position, they won’t have the same massive advantage they have over their rivals.
The only problem for us is that they’ll have Arteta near the top of their list of potential managers to replace him.
City have a fearsome reputation when it comes to the run in and they’ve so far been flawless but there’s always a first for everything. City won’t forever be able to put a run of 10 - 12 wins at will. City won’t take 6 points from us this season.
No one gave any serious thought to us as title contenders until last season and now most people, albeit begrudgingly, consider us and Liverpool to be City’s closest rivals. And with the top of the table being this tight, it’s not far fetched to believe City could drop more points this season than they did last season. They’re still favourites, but they are beatable.
Pep has been asked a couple times about which side of his was better between Barca and City recently and he’s struggled to give an answer(most likely to keep both sides happy).
What do you think?
- Pep’s City
- Pep’s Barca

Bollocks to them both. Both teams are fucking us. One for the shirt stunt and the other is cheating.
I can’t even really answer that, it’s pretty much the two best sides I’ve seen in my 25 years following this sport. Very hard to split.
Really? I think it’s a mismatch myself. However good KdB and Haaland are, we’re talking about peak Messi here.
It’s Barca by some way for me.
City might be more efficient or ruthless on their end of season runs but the Barca team was better and played nicer football.
No one is a mismatch vs this city team, you don’t win the premier league title 5 times in 6 years unless you’re god tier elite.
Prime Messi with Barcelona, they just don’t lose and won’t lose to this City team.
If we say Ferguson’s United was a 4-4-2-4 (officials added) team, Messi’s Barcelona could cheat you tons of FKs and PKs in every game. They had two greatest Oscar winning actors in Dani Alves and Sergio Busquets demonstrating no touch fouls all game long.
But they did lose, Real Madrid still managed to win a La Liga in 11-12 despite how good this Barcelona team was, they didn’t manage to win the title all 4 seasons pep was at the helm.
of course it is exeggerating to say they never lose…
there was/is no invincible except our invincible…
That Barcelona team was the best I’ve ever seen, and I think it would destroy this current City team.
Barca team is better yeah but it isn’t a landslide, both teams are at their peak maybe City beat them 3 or 4 times out of 10
Valdes
Alves-Puyol-Milito
Mascherano-Busquets
Xavi-Iniesta
Messi-Ibra-Villa
They also have Abidal, Pique, Thiago.
In any way, they are just better than the current City team.
Drop Ibra, peak barca needs pedrito
The difference we saw with Pep was almost instantaneous at Barcelona. From Riijkaard’s side stinking up a 2 legged CL tie in 2008 to winning it under Pep 12 months later was a monumental shift.
I use Ibra to neutralize Haaland.
Barca’s forward line is kind of small comparing to City.
