I’m more shocked that Madrid would want Dele, he had one very good season and has been very average since. If it was Kane or someone like that I understand but Alli lol.
With Bale, he’s 31 and he’s been slumming it for the last two years and Zidane clearly doesn’t rate him. I doubt he have the same impact at Spurs like he did first time around. Wouldn’t be overly fearing them even if they bought him in, that club is on downward spiral imo.
He’s not that old but his Zimmer frame is.
Has Bale not been playing because of injuries or because Zizi wants him gone? Looking at transfermarkt it seems he’s had plenty of injuries but never out for long. I’m undecided on whether this is a coup for Spurs or not. He’ll clearly be moving for regular football, so he probably won’t do an Ozil.
You don’t know what to expect with Bale really.
He could end up being the best player in the league again and win them the Prem, because he is that good or he could end up not being bothered, fall out with Mou and be another pain in the ass for Levy.

I don’t think best player in the league is even remotely possible. He doesn’t have the same pace and power anymore. The optimistic scenario is more like playing semi-regularly and bagging 12-15 goals. The pessimistic scenario involves getting hurt, being off the pace when on the field, and netting only 3-4.
His last real run of sustained quality play was in the spring of 2018, nearly 30 months ago.

Physically he seems shot and unable to consistently produce what he was capable of years ago.
Additionally he won’t help out defensively, will be interesting to see what he’s got left in the tank if he comes back to the PL but I don’t expect too much from him.
Bale isn’t a physical monster like he used to be - he can’t absolutely rinse fullbacks with his blinding pace like he did in his pomp. He won’t have the same impact as his 21 goal season.
But he’s still a top tier player. If he can keep fit and play in 25 league games then he pushes Spurs into proper top 4 contenders imo. They’re crying out for a bit of fear factor - there’s an air of defeat and dejection about them atm. Bale gives them a big lift.

His game is all about his pace, take that away from him just don’t think he’s the same player, he’s had more injuries over recent times. I think Zidane isn’t the biggest fan of his, even when Bale scored twice in that CL win over Liverpool, their were rumblings that they didn’t see eye to eye. Even when Zidane got the Madrid job there was a bit of kick up between them when Bale didn’t shake his hand.
I think definitely it’s more Zidane wanting him out and Bale sticking to his guns. It’s crazy a guy who won them two CL trophies thanks to his goals, won then the Spanish Cup in his first season over Barca with that wonder goal he scored. Yet is booed out of the stadium, but that’s Madrid fans for you the most spoiled in world football.

He is the sort of signing that could lift a club and the players as well so I hope it doesn’t happen.
Big name players like Bale give the supporters a buzz but if they don’t sign him the opposite could happen and they start turning on the board and Mourinho.

Yeah.
Flair with little end product, a bit inconsistent. Not bad but hasn’t really taken off yet.
A bit like Pépé last season in that regard. If Leicester get him maybe they can fix those things, they’re good at that over there I feel like.

I think that’s a great signing for them and something they need, under 25 mil is a risk worth taking.
They need something, squad is so thin.
