Donyell Malen close to a Serie A move to AS Roma (loan) @GC-Maniac interesting one

I’m not sure getting Tammy and losing Malen is an upgrade to be honest.

Aston Villa love to shuffle players in the winter. Last year Dhuran out, Rashford in. This year Malen out, Tammy in.

I didn’t even know what Abraham was doing. He was out in Turkey. Still doesn’t score much. He must be a cheap deal to get around the financial rules.

Malen been decent for them so that seems an odd one

Former Chelsea youth product and ex captain joins Tottenham. Surprising

If he had a choice you’d surely pick Villa right?

Spurs probably can offer higher wages. I think he’s probably a guaranteed starter there too whereas at Villa he might be more of a rotation option, and that might be a concern ahead of the World Cup.

More money plus living in London instead of Birmingham may well be enough to swing it for a lot of people.

Yeah it’s probably wages. I’d think he’s get plenty playing time at Villa. They’re pretty much a Europa/Champions League team under Emery. There’s no shortage of games.

Makes a lot of sense to me considering how picky he was before about leaving.
Think he’s very settled in London and even going to Atleti seemed forced on him.

Spurs will guarantee him more game time ahead of the World Cup too which I’m sure he wants to go.

Nothing move for both parties.

How so? Sounds like every party involved should benefit.
He was out of favour at Atleti so they get decent fee for him and take his massive wages off their bill, Spurs can definitely use him and he gets to come back to London and get more minutes ahead of the World Cup.

Not everyone is happy…a Pitbull with two legs :joy:

Spurs don’t even have a midfield right now. What’s he angry about?

Spurs are crap, Gallagher doesn’t move the needle for them and Athletico aren’t exactly stacked. So Spurs have spent 40m on a player who doesn’t obviously improve them, when is Kylian back? Gallagher drops down to Spurs and Atletico hurt their squad depth
