Bournemouth are honestly in a different tier to us. That’s their model because it has to be. We can scout all the same players and end up buying a more established guy anyway. As if we didn’t know about Huijsen, he was at Juventus. Roony was a pretty well-known hyped up kid, would have been interesting to see what happened if he didn’t blow his ACL or whatever it was.
I don’t even disagree with the idea of wanting to see more like this but I don’t think the not scouting thing is accurate.
City and Chavs are probably the main two top sides investing heavily but how many are going on to be a genuine first-teamer?
It’s not the same as proactively identifying the right talent for your squad.
Tomiyasu & Trossard are an outcome of desperation, rather than a planned recruitment.
Having last minute transfer deadline day favours like Trossard & Tomiyasu to fall in your lap each time is not a sustainable approach.
What makes you think they were out of desperation and not deals which we were working on for weeks and weeks that only finalised on deadline day?
I dont think for one minute Arteta and co would be panic buying out of desperation, the players recruited would be known about for months before hand but deals are not completed like its a football manager game.
He’s should stay in Spain. I’m sure there are plenty of mid table teams who could do with a forward like Endrick. One of the Basque teams maybe, Valencia or Seville maybe also.
Every time I’ve watched him play, he’s been ok. A good forward but he isn’t starting for any of the top clubs in the 3 big leagues and PSG. Rodrygo is the one
He regularly gets goals or assists for Bournemouth and is their best player.
But realistically he’ll leave to go to a bigger club that need a top quality, PL proven RW, that can afford more than the 60m he’ll cost, especially if his good form continues.
