How they gonna buy them and stay within FFP? Convinced it’s a myth now
They kept their business at minimum in January. Didn’t end up investing much last summer either.
Them getting Europe will definitely help.
Btw, they’ve got Moreno and Digne at LB and Watkins up top.
K
I wonder if they’ll look to cash in.
Vlahovic to villa? Yeah, right! What a waste of their time going in for him.
Good business. There’s value in experience
His fitness has been incredible over the years. Playing in that Klopp side and holding his own with younger players is top draw.
Probably been one of the best free signings in prem history tbh.
Who are the best free signings in Premier League history? (Pick up to 3 players)
- Sol Campbell
- Ruud Gullit
- James Milner
- Zlatan Ibrahimovic
- Michael Ballack
- Gus Poyet
- Marc Albrighton
- Christian Fuchs
- Jay Jay Okocha
- Demba Ba
- Mario Melchiot
- Alan Stubbs
- Mathieu Flamini
- Gary McAllister
- Gianluca Vialli
- Bacary Sagna
- Brad Friedel
- Thomas Hitzlsperger
- Joel Matip
- Esteban Cambiasso
Sol, Gullit, and Flamini obviously.
I probably should have gone for Gullit, but I went for Okocha, as I saw more of him.
I was 5 to 8 years old when Gullit played for Chelsea, I have no memory of ever seeing Chelsea play in that period, let alone him specifically.
I was 12 to 16 when Okocha was about and definitely saw him play a fair bit.
Campbell and Milner were my immediate selections.
Big Sol, Flamini and Sagna.
@Stroller Gary McAllister was very close to making the cut for me, but went for Okocha.
Very surprised you didn’t find room for Campbell
Will double down on it now, Caicedo won’t leave Brighton in the summer.
Nice signing. Not quite the athlete you usually associate with a Klopp midfield though that’s for sure.
Tbh I went for players who I thought helped define teams a bit more.
Campbell was more quality joining quality if that makes any kind of sense.
It’s has to be Campbell.
We basically got a world class player for nothing from our biggest rival and he won, not just trophies, he was also part of the Invincibles side.
We also signed him again on a free a few seasons later.
Building a a nice new South American core as well with Diaz, Nunez, Mac Allister and potentially Ugarte.
They’ll be there with us and City next season.
That’s a massive call, I actually think that’s a great buy for them and that they’re doing the right thing giving Klopp the patience and time to rebuild but it will be interesting to see if he can pull them out of this tail spin.
Their squad is far from healthy.
They’re going to be an interesting case next season but I’d actually be surprised to see them course correct immediately and challenge back again for the title. Catching lighting in a bottle again ain’t easy
Think it’s important how they finish now as well. They’re slowly finding their belief. Funnily enough, we may be the ones that triggered that at Anfield. Klopp called that match a turning point for them.
They had an awful time back in 2020 as well, somehow grabbed a CL spot right at the end, and they came back the next season and had a go at the quadruple.
They’ve shown glimpses recently of their old self. I think they’re gonna be a strong outfit again next season.
80m, damn good business again by Brighton
Honestly I feel like people have been saying that every other few games with them this season and then they go and lose to shitters immediately after.
I’m not saying it couldn’t happen I just think Klopp has his work cut out for him to turn this ship around. At times this season they’re looked like their pre Suarez era, proper King Kenny bin dipping dog shitters, then others they beat United 7 nil.
It’s just bizzare and I wouldn’t want to put money down on them finding any kind of consistency next season just yet
