Problem with this is why would we spend £60m on a striker now and then another £60-70m in the summer?
That leaves us with nearly £250m worth of strikers with Havertz, Jesus, Sesko and Watkins.
Feels like this is it if we sign Watkins then we won’t be signing anyone in the summer for the position.

We may well have some outgoings in the summer. Jorginho and Tierney’s wages off our books. Nelson, Zinny, Tommy, Kiwior also likely to go, none for big money but we could get £50m in.
I think we’ll be in a good place this summer. Add Zubi and Williams for £100m. Watkins now. Though Tel would also be a good winger.

I can see us signing a wide player like Nico Williams in the summer but definitely not another striker if we get Watkins now.
Jesus is finished at the club but Arteta loves Havertz and isn’t making him third string.

The mould of striker Watkins is he’s only going to go one way IMO and that’s down, few seasons he could be on the slide. Even this season gives me pause
I’m not convinced he’d give Auba service with regard how good he was for us before the decline hit
