Oleksandr Zinchenko (17)

Mikel addressed his situation by the way. He said it was his decision given the context not to use him but did highlight Zinny’s importance and the quality he provides.

Be interesting if he plays today and whether he actually starts.
You’d think this is the game he does but if he doesn’t someone like MLS is favoured to play LB again then things would definitely start to look bleak for him here.

Defensively he is a big problem, but he’s still such a lovely passer and offers a lot when he steps into midfield.

I can see him leaving in the summer and becoming a full-time 8 for a decent European team. I think Italy would suit him really well. I’m picturing him at Milan in my head.

May be something, probably is nothing but he was playing on the right in the training video Arsenal posted a couple hours ago.
I do wonder if we see him in midfield later today, or perhaps RB even.

Hope he does, tbh.

Started the season alright before the injury not sure what the big deal is.

Probs a combo of him recovering and being weaker defensively is why he’s not played much since calafiori took over.

Only that MLS sub app can suggest anything else.

He’s back

I’d say he’ll do his trademark fuck up a pass in the 37th minute.

Hopefully, he doesn’t start another game for us. Awful

Had high hopes when he came on. Thought he would’ve reminded us what we’ve been missing.
Certainly didn’t show any of that. Nearly killed the game off at one point in fact.

Honestly, none of the subs made a positive impact. I would argue each sub that came on made us even worse.

Yeah he did fuck all today apart from almost cost us a second.

Gonna get the Ramsdale treatment if he can’t show more than that while Cala is out.

If he’s at the stage of his career where he is writing books about himself, the man has tapped out.

needs to be shipped out asap.

Perhaps its coincidence, but very likely the war in Ukraine means his mind isn’t going to be on football as much as it used to?

Russia invaded Ukraine when he was still a Manchester City player.

How are you blaming the war in Ukraine for his poor form lol

Never change @SuperArsenal1886 .

I’m not haha, but just wondering whether his mind is elsewhere because since he came here - he’s been doing quite a bit of politics, media interviews about the Ukraine situation etc.

Na he’s just shit in general

I think it’s a mental thing - he’s gone from being one of the main players in our buildup play during his first year and half, to now being a bit part player. He’s tapped out.

His injuries should also be taken into account.
He’s been having reoccurring calf issues for 3 seasons straight now.

There is definitely some element of this as ridiculous as it sounds. I’m sure he’s stuck in his head in this place of being privileged and lucky he doesn’t have to go home to fight but at the same time upset and wishing he can do more for his nation.

I think that’s why he talks so much to keep shedding light on it but unfortunately he’s not really able to make much impact on the pitch or off it atm.

Then you add what the two chaps above said and it’s clear why he’s not in any great form.

Started the season in decent form but needs to stop being casual and thinking football is so easy for him, it can be but he can’t afford to keep making poor passes when creativity is his biggest trait in the squad rn.
