You can talk about getting skinned all day, the fact is with Kiwior playing this year we have had an amazing run, multiple clean sheets and even against City with Kiwiour in the starting 11, we kept City to 0-0 at the Etihad.
So y’all can keep smoking the pipe, the results with Kiwior playing LB and Zinchenko speak for themselves.
Nobody claims Kiwior is prime Maldini or Stam reincarnated, but he fucking sure is a better defender than Zinchenko and the results show for it.
Yeah, there no doubt he’s levels above Zinny defensively.
Putting him in the same place with Zinny, defensively, is just lazy thinking and simply false.
Also stating he got skinned on those games is just riduculous… In reallity he had decent defensive performances overall, just lost a few duels, happens to everyone.
Or maybe we’re just willing to look at possible upgrades? A scapegoat implies that player is blameless but getting shit anyway. Zinchenko is a weak link in defense. He always has been. We got away with it for chunks of last season but we’ve moved beyond him at fullback.
Now, I don’t keep track of who said what in here but if he wasn’t responsible for the goals(I think he was a tiny bit for the first), why all this outrage in this thread?
And yet his thread is popping off while no others are.
Anyway he’s been playing some garbage stuff in defence this season but he’s still useful going forward. No harm buying a Lb but I don’t think he’s city’s trash that we’ve now outgrown. He did just fine last season.
I think he’s really only useful in games where we’re able to play Rice at the six and dominate the ball. Think relegation fodder at home.
Or he useful when we’re chasing a goal and need to throw caution to the wind.
Beyond that, I’m kinda done with him here. He wasn’t good today, he’s been injured quite a bit, and if he can’t work with the rest of the left side — which was awful again today— then who cares if he’s got supreme technical ability?
Edit: Is it true that he had double digit giveaways? Jesus Christ. No wonder he got booed coming off.
Yeah, I think that’s enough to say nobody is scapegoating him or anything like that. He wasn’t good in the second half and it’s not the first time we’ve seen this from him. I almost expect it from him now.
This is what happens when you give too many interviews on non-football related matters instead of improving your game and working on issues that have been happening since 2021.
When he kicked the ball out - that changed the momentum of the game for me personally. He is just so poor defensively but when this time, his passing was not so great.
