Oleksandr Zinchenko (17)

dogshit today

I like his forward ability, but he is god awful at defending Jesus Christ

Do we even have a choice but to start him at LB? Timber and Tommy both injured. It’s peak but lacking depth and quality there atm.

Zinchenko is awful at defending.

I choose to believe we don’t, I struggle to believe Arteta picks Zinny to defend against Mo away at Anfield if there are alternatives, and the way he gives up space on the goal there perfectly illustrates why. His job in the squad is to do otehr things than this imo.

Dude looks like he was defending naked for Liverpool’s goal but somehow showed no bollocks.

Nope, poor game in both directions. Expected the defensive side but he was poor on the ball today too.

Did get slightly better towards the end, the drag backs started working better.

Tomi or timber have to be fit for these big games in future. Zinchenko is fine for the rest.

Gonna hand him some credit for coming back into the game after getting run ragged and getting caught on numerous occasions. It was off the back of Liverpool fumbling their openings but once we started to get into our groove again he was a big part of that. On the ball he’s still an important part of the team but he’s just never a safe defender in the big games.

Two to three times his bad decision making caused dangerous turnovers…

Same to Ode.

Sometimes we really need to be simple and just clear the damn ball.

Hasn’t there been another occasion this season when Zincenko misjudges a long diagonal? I’m certain this has happened before. @GC-Maniac ?

Against West Ham in the league cup I think, when we got absolutely shagged.

That’s harsh as what he offers in transition is very good, however, he is not a great player like say TAA where the offensive ability compensates for the defensive lapses and liability

With that said he is clearly upgradeable and if not for the Timber injury he’d already have had his chain snatched

Ultimately there’s a reason why City let him go.

Why did he tackle Ƙdegaard to start the counter that led to the TAA shot ? It was so weird

Didn’t watch the match mate. I’ll watch some extended highlights later on, maybe it’s included.

If Tomiyasu were healthy I can almost guarantee he would have started over Zinchenko.

With everyone healthy Zini is third choice in his position.

He’s just not good enough. So so bad on the Salah goal

We are were City were when they happily sold him to us.

Timber and Tomiasyu badly missed

Awful defending for the goal.

Thought he was good final 30 mins though in terms of us regaining control over the game so we aren’t camped back inside our pen box defending like most sides are at Anfield.

We know his weaknesses and we know his strengths, him playing is still an absolute no brainer with Tomiyasu and Timber both hurt.
