Oleksandr Zinchenko (17)

They simply shouldn’t need a huddle to get their heads into the game. It’s embarrassing, they’re top professionals and conceded two early goals against the worst team in the league.
You shouldn’t need to be told to play on and fight. It’s becoming too much of habit with this lot to expect the miracle every fucking time.

Zinchenko tried to have his “look at me, I’m the captain now” moment lol.

Fuck was that huddle nonsense about.

What does that say about the way they prepared them for the game? Big questions for me about Arteta tonight both in terms of preparation and in-game management.

It’s mad because in sport that kind of thing can definitely make a difference but these wasters just didn’t channel that energy lol

Damn shame

Not a fan of that huddle but the players needed some leadership at that time and it wasn’t coming from Ode. Ideally, players fighting for a title, in a situation like that shouldn’t need anyone to tell them what to do but our players are clearly finding this too much to handle at the moment and Zinny just tried something. It had to be Mikel who did that I feel.

Can you stop throwing the ball to City players? Damn.

Sounds about right since his brand of defending is being dazed and confused

Shite defender. Play him in CM

Rumour has it Zinchenko called for a huddle at FT.

Dosser. Bum.

seems obvious now why we got jesus and him so easy…both are crap when the pressure is on. They give it the bigun but dont walk the walk.

Didn’t to much wrong tonight all the goals game through the middle

Defensively he’s a issue. He’s been shocking over the last few games, all this leadership talk ain’t no good when you end up one of the worst players on the field.

He is excellent in the buildup and transition but yeah defensively forget about it and I don’t think that someone like that should be a nailed on starter no matter what

He isn’t that caliber hence being here in the first place

Swap Theo Hernandez for Tierney in the summer. Put Zinchenko in the midfield and play Hernandez at LB. Bring up Sousa as his back up. Jobs a goodun :+1:t3:

I think Zinchenko in the midfield would be even worse which is why both Pep and Arteta have opted not to field to him there as his default position anyway, the defensive work you have to do there consistently is not something he can manage at least in the PL

Who knows though

Fair play to him and Jesus inspiring the boys when they arrived, however, they’ve both shown their roles in that City teams.

Both are frankly too emotional, especially Zinchenko.
The statements Jesus made after Southampton highlighted how he’s still not that guy and the lack of self belief he’s going through. Talk of the team being too young and inexperienced are simply not things you say before meeting City.
Zinchenko’s obsession to act like a leader has backfired too. Too often he loses his head and too many times he makes a mistake. Mistakes happen of course, even to the best players, but it’s been a common occurrence pretty much every much. He doesn’t set the best example. Crying after getting nutmegged by Trent which led to a goal and calling for huddle at the Emirates against Southampton are silly.

Thought he tried really keeping a hold on his emotions but couldn’t manage much.
He was poor at times but thought he was one who never hid or stopped trying.

For me a leader doesn’t talk it up in interviews but does it on the field, look at Roy Keane and Patrick Vieria. These two talk way too much and it comes across all show for me. Zinchenko has been one of the worst players on the field over the last few games.
