one word to describe my feeling…
DISAPPOINTED.
It’s those stupid contracts.
Thanks, mate. You’re a saviour.
Noni does cross better off his right foot than Saka.

The people who are talking down on his quality have honestly never watched him play and are letting this silly “Chelsea reject” agenda influence them too much.
Chelsea reject at 23 always makes me laugh. He’s been there 2 years and they weren’t actively looking to sell him so how can he be a reject?
Yea its seen as a Chelsea reject, whereas it’s just Chelsea getting bored of a player.
At the end of the day they’re getting rid of an England international
I think (of course i dont know this to be FACT) that Madueke was targeted because Gyokeres seems to best with counters. Of course Madueke is a back up but if we want Gyokeres to be our main guy we have to play to his strengths and Madueke does actually do that well. If you look at his comps you see he gets past defenders and up to the box area quite a bit and he hits the target man quite accurately by running to the box and cutting back into the path of strikers. He also passes quite accurately to players running ahead of him.
I feel if we are going for Gyokeres Arteta wants players that can get the ball to him either in the box or ahead of time because it seems that is how he gets a lot of his goals.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play. Certainly I don’t remember if I did.
All I know is at 23 he’s good enough to have already played for one of the big teams in England, and is coming here for what should be the best years of his career.
Looking forward to seeing what he can do.
If Chelsea don’t want him, after buying him a couple of seasons ago for around 35m, then why are we paying 50m when no other club is interested?
I actually think he will be a really good player for us. Issue is still squarely on the way the club have gone about things.
Chelsea reject and us overspending are 2 different things
If Chelsea don’t want him, then he’s a reject.
No club gets rid of players that are good unless they need the money.
Gonna echo what @Josh said. He is not a Chelsea reject, but I definitely think we could have gotten a better deal if we’d stretched this one out a bit.
I’m not happy we shelled out £52m but he is legitimately a good player with a high ceiling and he is better on the ball than any of our existing wide players not named Saka.
We’ve got ourselves a good player with lots of potential to grow who could change the way we attack when he plays. We desperately need new dimensions to our attack and he offers us that.
Context matters. We’re talking about Arsenal and where we are now. We’re competing for the league with some glaring weaknesses namely on the left flank and upfront.
Who honestly had it in their mind that Madueke was the answer?
And when was the last time Chelsea actually gave us a player that elevated us?
Until he performs beyond all of the previous players we’ve gotten from Chelsea he remains among the MANY former Chelsea players we’ve bought that were never good enough.
I agree, but for that sort of money for a player because he’s versatile, rather than a dedicated LW, seems a waste.
But if we get Gyokeres and a LW like Eze or Rodrygo, then I’m ok with Madueke, despite being overpriced.
Is our bench going to be stronger this season? Looks like it. That’s really not a bad thing.
The amount of games last season where we ran out of ideas and had nothing on the bench that’ll make a difference. Yet we finished 2nd and made it to two semi-finals.
If Noni can unlock tired defences with his ball carrying, we might start beating teams who park the block (I think it’s called a “Low Bus” or something).
Why?
They don’t want him, he’s a reject.
If he was central to their plans he’d still be there
Gallagher went to Atletico, he’s still a reject
“Chelsea reject” was their best forward last season. Better than Neto, George, Jackson, Nkunku, Sancho, Mudryk and all the other pricks they have.
You can argue the quality of their forwards but that’s another matter entirely.
The issue is people are (selectively) treating current Chelsea as a normally operating club.
There’s a clear pattern of them shuffling players in and out every summer. It helps them balance the books.
Noni was one of the few players they have left that they could flip for good profit.
Their club ain’t normal.
