If Nwaneri is clamoring for minutes and wants to prove himself then give him a good run on the right and some minutes deputizing for Ćdegaard in cup games.
No need to bring in another Chelsea scrub when weāve already got a better option.

I would bet on Nwaneri to have more G/A next season if he stays in this current role as a Saka/Ode back up, than Madueke staying in Chelsea being in their starting XI.
Thatās how much more productive and efficient he is imo.
His G/A ratio to minutes played was great last season, and you expect him to have better numbers in total the next season, if he plays an important squad role right from the start of it (he only really got going in middle of the last season).
Nwaneri is 18 years old and heāll improve massively. I donāt see Madueke improving sigificantly past what heās showing atm.

Calm everyone. We will not be buying him for Ā£50m. Weāre looking for a market opportunity for Sakaās back-up, weāre doing what we did with the striker role, getting personal terms in place to put pressure on the selling club. Weāll probably be wanting a Ā£30m fee with performance related bonuses. If Chelsea continue to stick to their valuation, weāll move on.
Eze and Goykeres are our main targets right now. We have a decision to make on Martinelli and Trossard and also have half a dozen players to sell. Nwaneri can start the season as Sakaās back-up.
We are not going to do this deal at the expense of quality starters. Thereās 7 weeks to go before the end of the transfer window, Madueke is still away with Chelsea. We have time to pivot to another option and I honestly think we will.
As a potential back-up to ā¬150m Saka, who plays the same position for the national team and therefore should bring the best out of him, I donāt think so.
How much should a player who can push Saka or come on as a sub for him cost? Because we canāt have the drop off to a kid or a ā¬25m make weight. We need to raise the floor as much as we need to raise the ceiling.
This just has that same, sunken, inevitability of happening, doesnāt it?

I donāt think he will be just a Saka-cover but much like Trossard be used over the whole front line and be the 12th man.

Yeah, Saka cover and competition for LW with Martinelli and probably Eze(where he would offer something different compared to them).
I think what irks people is the Chelsea link.
It irks people because of the Chelsea link, because of the quoted price (that I doubt Chelsea will budge from, look at how much they paid for Gittens), his actual talent and portfolio in the PL so far and also because the real LW (Rodrygo) situation hasnāt been solved yet. The chronological events is also a factor for some too.
The fear is that we sign Eze and Madueke and walk away saying that we tried for the market opportunity in Rodrygo and heās now staying at Madrid etc.
