Not expecting world class things from the guy at all but if he can unpick the low-block against the smaller sides, I’d view that as a positive.
He will get schooled the Arteta way eventually but I expect him to keep some of that chaos (dribbling) and being a valuable tool to at least use. Helps unsettle that silt on the bottom of the river floor, so to speak.
We still need Eze but bringing in Noni, Eze and Gyokeres into the attack is a big improvement. With Jesus returning, I actually believe that we can hurt a team in various ways now.
Besides us, who showed interest in Madueke? I could not recall any (or any serious club).
Our LW situation is far more important than the Saka backup (we have Nwaneri, and the unwanted Vieira), we could have wait till later to place a bid or could get a better deal if close to the end of window.
Unless he is going to be used as a LW also. Significant minutes as a LW.
That’s why we are so leisure on bidding Eze.
Yeah, its not clear to me whether its actually a chart of all the top players on this metric in order or just a bunch of notable players and they included Martinelli and Trossard to show the comparison.
Seems like the plan is for Noni to be deployed in LW? Hope he takes Martinelli’s spot in that case. He seems far more intelligent from the little I’ve seen from him.
I think Madueke is excellent back up, but if the plan is for Arteta to have him as our first choice left winger (or Martinelli), I am seriously concerned.
He’s going to look basic on the left. But I assume his main task is going to be to take players away from the centre on the pitch and put passes/crosses in front of the goal for Gyokeres to be at the end of. It probably makes the most sense with a striker like Gyokeres.
