Nicolas Anelka

19 goals and 7 assists in 08/09 (best season ever) and 11 goals and 10 assists in the following season.

Sure we could have used that output at that time

I love those kits.

JVC is miles ahead of anything we’ve ever had on the shirt.

That was huge mistake with regard to Cesc. The way Barcelona burnt him, he was never going to go back there again. He signs for Arsenal in 2014, then he’d retire an Arsenal legend.

Anelka I can sort of understand, but the quality of player should always be the main deciding point.

Bergkamp in an Arsenal JVC shirt is art.

Those gloves!

One of those players who makes me think the former gunners section needs a subsection for notable bellends.

JJB Sports classic Adidas GK gloves that eventually smell of piss because of the amount of sweaty mitts that have graced them on the astro?

Anelka knows ball.

every time Anelka is spoken about, it’s about how much more talented he was than Thierry Henry. truthfully, I think he peaked early. the expectation is that you improve with age, but he didn’t.

Anelka never had the drive Titi had.

It feels ridiculous to say he underachieved but I’ve always sort of felt that he did.

Yep. I constantly listen to accounts of have good be was compared to Thierry.

Crazy to think he is one of footballs “what ifs” despite the career he had.

Think being a bit of mercenary stopped him from reaching his true potential as well.
