Nico Williams

It’s a ridiculous statement, but never a truer word spoken.

He’s a first choice winger for the Spanish national team. I’d say he’s good enough to start here.
Watch him almost weekly and he is quality.
Always double teamed when playing for his club and tries to do too much but he shines when the quality around him is elevated.
The main problem I see is that he is over confident in his dribbling. He will take on his man, EVERY TIME. And try to beat him or get dispossessed trying.

Mikel will soon coach that out of him.

This feels like a probable transfer now so will be getting behind it.

Welcome to the good side. :handshake:

At least he’s a fellow Zaha appreciator.

Haha! That is one thing, I suppose. This might be the closest thing to that Zaha signing I always wanted.

Will Arteta’s style allow him to take a shot from that angle?

What?!

Don’t worry Saka has a little piece of paper he hands to the guys which says “if you feel it go for it”

Nico saw the summer window approaching and went brr.. :racing_car:

I do fear his form will make Barca look at him again this summer.

Chelsea wanting another winger. Shocker.

My gut feeling with absolutely no evidence is that we’ll be priced out due to the hype around him.

It’ll be like the Mudryk saga and he’ll eventually go where the money is. Barca would be his preferred destination but they won’t have the money.

He’ll go to Chelsea on another Death Row contract and hate his life by mid-season.

They really do need a good one though because theirs suck bad lol

surely now (especially because they are being investigated for selling assets back to themselves) they would be restricted in spending? How are these clubs spending like this along with dodgy dealings and still being able to.

I think this actually works in our favor. Chelsea have instituted a fairly rigid wage structure, where they blow lots of money is transfer fees. Nico has a release clause so Chelsea can’t really Mudryk us here.

I think the bigger threat is still Barcelona although Raphinha’s star turn helps a lot.

Good point. Still opens the door for wages being an obstacle and maybe another team going in for him. If they sell Diaz then maybe Liverpool.

I just don’t trust Arsenal to get high profile transfers across the line.

Not that I’m bothered either because I’m not fully on the Nico Williams boat.

105m on Rice.
Not high profile enough?

Doesn’t matter how much Nico is, no way he is more expensive than Rice.
He is definitely within our limit.

Isak, probably not.

Rice was high profile but who else other than rice?

Maybe Ozil, Sanchez and Aubameyang—all three were surplus to requirements at their previous clubs.

Rice is the exception that proves the rule.
