He changed lineups for every match. If he’s not doing it in response to the opponent then why do it? What the fuck was he searching for? Nobody knew what the hell he was trying to do. Because if he was trying to ā€œreplicate peak Wenger ballā€ā€¦ damn bruh.

He was desperately trying to find the right balance between attack and defence.

Sadly for Arsenal he just didn’t posses the coaching ability or personality to do it. What we got in the end was a dysfunctional 11 that was a defensive shambles and in turn heavily reliance on the individual talent of Laca, Auba and Ramsey to score goals.

There’s no doubt he was under pressure whether from himself or senior management to play a attacking brand of football in order to live up to the legacy Wenger left behind from his peak years.

He wasn’t playing an attacking brand of football though he was having us park the bus. Not only did he have us park the bus, he also had us not look to win the ball back. He tasked all of our player with dropping deep and to only block and not intercept or tackle.

His team was very defensive and nearly all of our attacks were coming from the midfield knocking the ball wide to the fullback who would then cross.

I’m finding it exceptionally hard to believe that Emery was trying to replicate a Wenger like brand of football, absolutely nothing I saw would suggest that he aspired to that.

In that case there should have been more pressure because at the beginning when we were more adventurous was the only time where it looked like Emery was doing something with this team.

Funny, and possibly true.

Yay or nay?

Is this opinion or news? :joy:

Would love it tho

happy enough with part 1, but part 2 not so much. I think better candidates may be available in the summer.

But then again, Valverde may also be available :gabriel:

This season is a fucking write off, if Freddie being in place for the rest of the season means we get the candidate we actually want in the summer, then we good imo.

Far preferable to pulling the trigger on some bum for the sake of having a permanent manager in place and then having Raul et al feel obliged to let the fucker have at least eighteen months regardless of how fucking shit he is.

Yeah, much prefer Freddie til summer and letting Poch see if he doesn’t want to manage us if United and Madrid don’t come calling, or Arteta come in, than hiring a compromise right now.

This season was fucked the moment we started it with Emery. Should use what’s left of it to see what we have in our younger players/develop assets. Freddie seems likely to be useful for that.

The iron is hot, and the timing is perfect if our management wanted Poch. You have to close the deal now. If you wait until summer or let him wait he will find a better job.

I agree that we should be doing everything to convince him, but the reality is that Madrid and United are two of the biggest jobs in world football, if not the two biggest, and given the high probability of one or both of them being open this summer he’s extremely likely to wait.

for me, he should be the only guy we’re after for coming in now.
