Newcastle United

Why do you dislike this guy so much haha when statistically he was a better arsenal manager than Arteta was and you supported him a lot longer than most

Iā€™m not sure heā€™s statistically better is he ? Win % would be rather similar Iā€™d have thought and Arteta won an FA cup.

This will be a tortuous watch for this lot. Itā€™s grade one fat Sam stuff but over paying the odds.
Itā€™s on who they buy in January. No fun for the fans though, guaranteed.

Youā€™re right just @Calum

Emery win 55.1 % at us

Arteta 53.5 %.

Iā€™d rather the 1.6% dip though and an FA cup, but yeah not much in it.

Denis Suarez to Newcastle, Here-we-go

Would have been higher if he didnā€™t fuck about with Ozil.

Back in the glorious days of fighting for a Champions League position instead of fighting to get into the top half of the league now

Is Unaiā€™s communication issues over blown? Bielsa is hardly a fluent English speaker and gets his message across fine. Conte is fine it but gets by on the vocab he already knows.

In the context of a relegation fight, I donā€™t think so.

Conte was passable and Biesla use of the interpreter just clarifies.
Unai was hideous and if things go wrong adds to a perception of looking out of his depth.

The team Emery inherited from Wenger was a lot better than the team Arteta inherited from Emery.

Emery completely ostracized our star man in Ozil, and whether he liked it or not Arteta had to deal with that burden. Emery got a transfer window special from Sven and just complained about the players, nearly every signing under Emery fell out of favour with the club by the time Arteta took over. Arteta has had one true window this season and looks to be utilizing every piece that was brought in for him.

For Emery to be better than Arteta you have to say with a hand on your heart that youā€™d take Emery now over Arteta, there shouldnā€™t be a single Arsenal fan around with that viewpoint because at least with Arteta there is more upside.

This really looks like a bad fit. Emeryā€™s days at Almeria is 13 years ago and I donā€™t think he particulary got to 100% grips with the league either.

Hmmm.

So what can we expect from Newcastle in Januaryā€™s window? They will have to massively overpay for players to join them during the season.

Why on earth would Emery leave a club in the Champions League to enter a relegation battle? So what if theyā€™re stinking rich, theyā€™d change managers again once it came time to really push on and spend the money so I fail to see what he gets out of it, I suppose a good pay day.

Maybe because he is guaranteed to have huge transfer budget and lots of controlling power?

Newcastle backline and unai Emery just doesnā€™t seem like a good fit.

Zaha to Newcastle here we go?

ASM on one side, Zaha on the other.
Fuck.

Iā€™m not sure theyā€™d give him that much power tbh, and heā€™d have a relegation battle to deal with before he even gets to spend much. They may do some business in January but itā€™s still a very difficult season for them and Iā€™m not sure Iā€™d leave Villareal for Newcastle at this particular juncture.
