Considering he was supposedly on the verge of signing for Middlesbrough last week, was that just a potential huge coup for them or a weak signing for us?

We aren’t gonna sign another CB so might as well give him a chance. Not impressed though. Unless we have transported back to 2013 and he is still good.
Had a lot of absences last season due to injury (wilkommen! 
) Also Sven Bender seems to be ahead of him at CB now for BVB.
He’s a big gamble, as he seems not to be as good as he was in 2013.
