Myles Lewis-Skelly (49)

Myles is going to get a lot of game time with the injuries to Calafiori and Hincapie.

I am convinced his drop in performance is connected to a lack of minutes and rhythm. And also his age. Inconsistency is absolutely normal for a young player, especially in a high pressure position like LB for Arsenal.

Last season he was physically dominating in the Premier League, bursting through the lines, dodging out of the press etc. The raw ingredients are astonishingly good, especially his calmness and awareness. Those last two things are missing because his confidence is pretty low currently.

However, he’s got a big chance to establish himself once more as our first choice LB and get back in the England frame. I back him to bounce back strongly. Top player in the making, just a very normal bump in the road for a 19 year old.

Cala is this for me. Miles would just been the stand in again. We have really missed him at LB

I thought it might be possible Timber will go over to left back and White will come in rather than MLS starting.

Had some not great moments at times but overall I thought he was very good.
Glad to see.

Up to 24 appearances now. 39 last season. Still getting decent game time for a 19 year old.

His minutes only equate to about 12 games though and only 1 league start.

Been mostly playing the CL.

Much better against Inter. It won’t happen but would to see him get some midfield minutes vs Kairat.

Depends on defensive injuries probably.

:dove:.

Zinchenko, now MLS. Which full back into midfielder conversion will @Flexo desire next? Place your bets.

He is right though.

I can’t believe how little use we got of Zinchenko in midfield once we had better options at LB(mainly down to the defensive side of things).

I did not say he was wrong! Well it would get in the way of his boy Wharton, so there’s that.

The Flexo Conundrum.

On MLS, we do know the plan was to start him in midfield against Wigan. So clearly it’s something the club still considers.
We’re also moving away from inverted fullbacks, and whenever we had to use it was down to necessity and lack of options.

Valdepenas seems to be someone the club is seriously looking at and he’s another CB/LB hybrid.
I think from next season MLS will be considered a midfielder first and foremost and an emergency LB if needed.

Been a rough season for him in general and he’s got almost no chance going to the World in the summer unless a major injury crisis occurs. Still young of course and hopefully he can come back stronger.

Apparently MLS is suspended for the game against Mansfield. Some luck this lad had.

Well, there’s always next year Myles.

Sauce?

How is that possible?!

I don’t think it is possible, but I await confirmation

He got 2 yellow cards in FA cup so one match suspension

My research says the FA Cup has one-match suspension for two yellow cards up to the Quarter finals.

MLS got booked against Portsmouth and Wigan.

Well damn.

Unless there’s a huge injury crisis, MLS has likely started his last game for Arsenal this season.

Less important for us, but he won’t be going to the World Cup either
