Not only was any other outfield player nowhere near it, Kudus would have little trouble to control it and have a shot with Raya way off his line as well.

Made a mistake today. It happens. He’s in our strongest 11 at the moment.
From where I was sitting in the stadium, it looked like MLS managed to kick the ball. After getting home, I’ve watched the highlights and agree that it is a clear red card. If anything, I can’t understand why the ref didn’t give a straight red for it. Can’t have any complaints with the decision.
My original comment came from my frustration, like everyone else there, that every 50/50 seemed to be going against us, and at the time of the MLS incident, it felt like they were only reviewing it because it was MLS.
100% agree. Totally changed my mind after looking at the incident back.

Look I’m fine with it being a red but I think there’s enough case for it to be a yellow and for them to have stuck with the yellow having given it.
I’m factoring in all the shit we listened to about Saliba’s red and Tosin’s yellow. Whites recovery pace annalysis and everybody’s position.
My expected scenario from the chance is kudus sees raya out and punts a long shot on his right foot. I reckon the daft cunt misses tbh but either way it’s probably a 50/50 at best, plenty of those efforts have missed either over or just wide.
If we had to take into account how evanilson or whoever would’ve been through on raya, then I’m gonna take kudus potential attempt into account.
If he doesn’t shoot then raya can close him down and slow him up, Saliba is rapid enough to get back etc etc.
They’ve made it this way for me given the over analysis last time. If they’d just sent tosin off without all the garbage I’d probably straight accept the MLS red.
No complaints on this red, out of all the sending offs we received this season this is the only one that is justified.

I think if the VAR can’t make a call then the ref should have to stick with his on-field decision. I thought it was a red 100% but it’s so cumbersome having the ref make a call, VAR looking at it for ages and then saying “oh you look at it again”. That’s basically how it is in rugby.
Saliba’s was justified, until the same thing the next day only got a yellow.
I really hope Myles doesn’t think that loss was on him cause even without the sending off, we never looked like scoring or winning. If anything, he should take the fact that he replaced Calafiori as a complement from Mikel.

The loss wasn’t down to him but as soon as he was sent off, our chances of getting back into the match had gone. It was a clear red card and he needs to take responsibility for it and learn from it.
Lets be frank we were not scoring with 12 men let alone 11 or 10
Of course you’re right with the way we were playing yesterday. I did think Zinny made a bit of a difference initially, and if MLS I would have had some hope. I was one of the worst performances I’ve seen at the Emirates for a while.

For what is worth, I do believe Rio is playing to the gallery, however, he’s right. Good to see Carragher being called out more.

Rio is an opportunist and can’t stand Jamie Carragher.
I think Carragher had a point on both. The MLS one is debatable since he’s only 17/18, but his take on AFCON and the Ballon d’Or is spot on. For example, winning AFCON doesn’t automatically make Lookman a top contender for the award because the tournament simply doesn’t carry that weight. Whether that should be the case is another question. But people have twisted his words just to score social media points.
That said, I don’t mind seeing Carra squirm a little.

Carragher perhaps doesn’t like to play to the gallery but he sure likes to stir the gallery a fair bit.
There is no bloody need to make a bid deal about post match celebrations or MLS celebrations. He is a fairly good pundits but gets carried away so much.
