Yeah, was huge fan of him. Was an absolute unit on the pitch, had it all. People were raving about Kante in the recent years but Essien was comfortably the better player just didn’t get that much attention next to Lampard and some other Chelsea legends at the time… Plus, had a couple of big injuires during his prime that kinda diminished his overall legacy, but his quality was immense.
