Not sure what you two are really banging on about to be frank.

Both seem to agree we need depth compared to last year, if we get depth of CL quality (seems to be what Joshua is getting at) then by default we’ve got good enough depth for the domestic cups too.

Whether we need to prioritise any comp is irrelevant until we’re in march/April anyway, which is probably where this

…goes out the window.

You are saying exactly the same thing as me, because we are in a better position to sign quality players than a few years ago, they will be exactly the same players in the squad
If say in the third round we meet Accrington Stanley I would expect most of the bench players to play but is say we meet teams like Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea, then in the final we play Man City don’t you think we are going to play our strongest team?

All you are doing is pointing out that you personally want to win the champions league, we all do because we’ve never won it. Personally and although it’s lost its appeal for a few people, the FA is still the greatest domestic cup competition in the world, it’s why I started watching football.

So in conclusion the players we play in the champions league will be the same players that will play in the latter stages of the FA cup at the very least.

If we want to get close to Man City who go in strong for every competition, we as supporters need to have the same attitude . We want to win every competition and I’m sure as hell Arteta does as well.

Contact has been made with the player’s representatives, but, at time of writing, this is as far as the interest has gone. Talk of a verbal bid to Real Sociedad is understood to be wide of the mark.

It’s worth noting that contact with a player’s representatives across the course of the transfer window is not necessarily a sign that a deal is close. Merino is one of a number of players that Arsenal are looking at in midfield, and Edu and Jason Ayto - the club’s assistant sporting director - will keep contact with agents for each of their targets across the course of a summer as standard practice.

There are also people in the hierarchy at Arsenal who have reservations over Merino’s age. Arsenal have generally tended to buy at the younger end of the spectrum throughout their current project to help build for the future. As previously mentioned, the Real Sociedad man is a signing for the here and now.

With this and the Nketiah deal reportedly on the ropes. Football twitter going to milk Arsenal fans for what they’re worth with the engagement.

I say this it’s bollocks and clickbait because this website survives by the countless ads and it’s fucking impossible to navigate.

Sorry to be “that person” but I hope he’s not cooking at that precise moment. The grill is on the floor.

We are in win now mode. For that matter his age shouldn’t matter. But why is he still at Sociedad at this age? What does that say about his quality?

Let’s ask his European Championship winners medal :grinning:

Great touch and balance for a big guy. He may be even more technical than I thought at first.

As a benchwarmer ;). He’s 3rd/4th choice after Pedri, Gavi and Fabian Ruiz.

He’s got the charcoal fired up no Brasilian is gonna cook over flames
