I’m happy for every win we get and especially in a NLD! It will take a lot more from Arteta to win me over though, tbh he’s never been close in convincing me he’s the right man for the job yet.
Was a good performance today which doesn’t suit my recent Arteta out agenda.
But I’d rather have egg on my face and do a u turn although only time will prove either way
Fantastic performance by Arsenal today, the Emirates was absolutely rocking. Arteta got all the big calls correct today and achieved a stunning first half display. He deserves real credit for this performance and the result, and I’m proud to say my believe and faith in him as our manager is slowly being vindicated.
Pleased to see the clown image has gone from this thread. It should never have been there in the first place IMO, but pleased to see people are starting to believe and have faith in this project again. COYG!
The onus is really on Arteta now, he’s bought himself some breathing room and the team he’s put together is looking the absolute best we’ve seen since Wenger was winning FA Cups.
As Adam’s said today the balance is there, or at least getting there. Anyone who can’t see what Arteta is trying to do now is just being wilfully ignorant. If this first 11 can stay fit then this season might be ok, it’s still not enough to get top 4, but we have to be in with a sniff of a chance and at least a handful of points off 3rd and 4th place.
I’ll lay off the Arteta slander…for now.
for today. Well done the lego headed…ehem, our esteemed manager.
Big if true…

Anything other than EL is a failure.
I don’t rate the likes of West ham, Everton, Leicester or Brighton ffs
No…NO
Don’t confuse me
I remember that Wenger said Arteta could go on and become a future Arsenal manager…there is a reason he is called the professor!
Think he also said the same about that Dragon guy. How’s he doing?
He just always leaned towards the positive when something like this came up.
I’m weirdly still hardwired to consider qualifying for the EL as a failure. I really don’t consider any substantial different between finishing 5th-9th.
I know that’s wrong, it’s just my top 4 is a trophy conditioning at work.
What’s confusing about Arsene’s chosen son knows best?
Interesting viewpoint
By the end of the Spurs game, all of Arteta’s 6 summer signings were on the pitch.
The first half shows what this team is capable of. It will rely heavily on the young players developing.
Crazy that of the 14 players to feature against Spurs, only 3 players were over 24 (Auba, Xhaka and Partey).
2 x 24 year olds (Tierney, AMN)
3 x 23 year olds (Gabriel, White, Ramsdale)
2 x 22 year olds (Ødegaard, Tomiyasu)
3 x 21 year olds (EDB, Sambi, Tavares)
1 x 20 year old (Saka)
The team is now in Arteta’s image. There needs to be consistent improvement and consistent results.
I desperately hope the Spurs performance wasn’t a flash in the pan.
But irrespective, there is a really solid core of young players to work with in this squad. The next manager will not be left with a shit squad (if Arteta is sacked).
Welcome to the church of our one true saviour Mi Artetico. Your membership badges will be in the post.
Arteta was rather unfortunate in the first half of his managerial reign with a global pandemic occurring in his first few months in management.
I would have said the opposite.
If it hadn’t have been for the empty stadium, Arteta would have been gone.
Saying that, It’s a different point of view, but clearly biased towards Arteta, although I doubt it would it have been written if spurs had beaten us?
It just seems that, after a decent run or a significant win, the Arteta PR machine comes out in force to tell us he has turned a corner and we’re heading in the right direction.
But until we start beating teams that are not bottom of the PL, or in poor form like spurs, it’s going to take a few more convincing performances.
I think for me, what I find both odd and refreshing is the fact that we’ve bought a handful of players and we’ve actually got to watch all of them before it’s even October.
How often did we mindlessly acquire players that our managers seemingly didn’t want to use, whether that’s Wenger or Emery.
Fair play to to Mikel and even Edu for bringing in a contingent that look to be part of something, an idea, a project, dare I say a process.
We are going to be higher in this list after a few more rounds, given that our first choice line up (one Vs Tottenham) is even younger than the youngest one here.
It doesn’t tell us that though. He stresses continually that we haven’t reached any turning point yet.
It’s probably as balanced an article your going to read.
He constantly talks about a bit of positivity on the result with everything being left to prove for the manager.
In fact he states how any reverse result will add pressure on him.
