Mikel Arteta

I suppose it would be something to do with us only conceding 5 shots on target in those 3 matches combined, yet we’ve somehow managed to concede 5 goals.

Anomaly @shamrockgooner

The delusion is off the charts, Arteta watching the games from the sideline thinking it’s a maths lecture.

He might be right regarding the last couple games tbf.

Yeah we’ve been relatively unlucky as of late, but the football is still shit and overall we deserve to be in a shit position.

Doesn’t matter how good we are on Xg when you keep using a mix of Willian, Pepe, and Laca (can’t hit a cows arse with a banjo) shitter in your forward line.

Not helped by Granit Shitter, Elneny and co in centre midfield who can’t progress the ball quickly forwards with any accuracy in transition.

It’s not a mystery at all if you watch this lot.

Lets start by replacing this lot with players who really want it like Martinelli, Balogun, Nelson, Smith Rowe and Willock. Mostly they aren’t the finished products but they’ll do a lot better than a lot of the overpaid lazy shit we are playing currently.

Think Maitland’s Piles plays a lot better than a lot of the old guard too.

He’s really got to start learning from his mistakes and the fact he doesn’t understand why he keeps losing is deeply worrying. Suggests he’s completely lost in his first full season as manager.

Arteta has proved himself to be the king of spin and deception.
The amount of people he fooled into thinking he was the right man for the job is some achievement,
He has fooled the board, the supporters and the media.

Like @Stroller said, he’s a David Icke football manager.
When he sees us play, he probably thinks he is watching the best team in the world, using the best tactics and it’s only a few things not going our way that is stopping us being at the top of the PL.

I still hear supporters saying, “we’re playing better defensively” or “for a few minutes we were brilliant,” but you could say that about Burnley or Sheffield United.
This is Arsenal, not a relegation club.

Defending this absolute waste of space should be reserved for spurs fans only because the longer he stays, the further we fall.

If the board aren’t actively searching foe a top level replacement, like we should have had, then they are a waste of space as well, or spurs supporters.

I used to appreciate the story that stats like xG were trying to tell, trying to measure the seemingly unmeasurable, but xG means very little when you’re losing. A deflected goal with 0.01 xG changes a game more than 10 chances with a combined xG of 5.

Obviously you have more chances when you’re behind. As soon as you’re no longer behind, the dynamic of the game changes completely. Football isn’t some linear game where both teams are putting the exact same effort into trying to score for 90 minutes.

Everton’s xG would obviously be higher if we’d equalised in the 46th minute. Do people think they would have just taken a 2-2 or a 3-2 loss and not crossed the halfway line for the rest of the game?

As Arsenal fans we’ve been telling ourselves for a decade that we’ve been unlucky we were the “better team” in many games, but then also complaining that we can’t compete.

Was busy last 48h. This guy is still Arsenal manager?

:ozil:

This is a bonkers interpretation of stats and I assume xG. Game state is important as @Craigie explains. Damn…

What can I say. The guys learned from Pep. No money - no success.

The best way to back the club with funds would be to pay to get a top manager in to sort the players we already have out.

Letting Arteta loose with any money to buy more CB’s is just pointless.

Any top level manager could sort this out.
Bu the longer we leave it, the harder it’s going to be.

Yep exactly. Another shit show of a season. Really want that cunt Edu out of this club and a new manager in. Very disappointing to think that neither of those things are happening and we’re just going to squander even more money on dodgy signings. Plus continue to waste the little talent we have at the club.

I’ve asked this before and I’ll ask it again at what other club are a similar string of results acceptable? WBA drew to Man City at the etihad and Bilic got shown the door, we’ve lost how many games on the trot now? How many home defeats and they double down even more.
