MEPs vote to scrap twice-yearly clock change by 2021

If the UK leaves the EU, the government will be free to maintain British summer time, meaning Northern Ireland would have to choose whether to have a one-hour time difference with Ireland or the rest of the UK for half the year.

I haven’t read this particular story but when this was being mooted (they did a public consultation which I made a submission on) the plan was that it would be up to each member state whether they changed or not. So not centrally mandated either way.

You may be right but I vaguely remember reading about this a few months ago and have a feeling it will be voted on a qualified majority system. Would seem silly to remove the national veto for something like this though
