You know, if I was being extremely cynical, rather how the Meghan interview story superseded coronavirus, would you say the sad story of Sarah Everard being killed is being given more credence, too? Deflection away from COVID.
I don’t necessarily think so. But it’s interesting how some murders are front page news and others aren’t reported on. There’s about 800 murders a year in the UK. I suppose criminals killing each other isn’t as front page worthy but I’m sure there are other similar ones that simply don’t pick up much coverage.

I think the fact that it was a young lady who should be allowed to walk the streets at whatever time of day/night just compounds it a little. It’s truly a tragedy. Couple that with the Met Officer involved and the fact there was a search for a few days, it’s engendered top news status.
However, enough to topple COVID? Is this the beginning of a delaying tactic to relinquishing lockdown?
