Matheus Cunha

Brain says no, but if Cunha starts saying it’s his dream to play for the North London red n whites, they might soften their stance.

come on, you know the answer…

Rice said he would only pick Arsenal and did West Ham soften their stance and give us a good deal?
We are talking about January transfer here.

What type of player should cost £75m?

Better players than Cunha.

No player should cost a stupid amount like £75m

Anything even near 65m is just not worth it. He isn’t a great fit and for 50m we can have a go at Nico Williams, someone who would actually fit our team a lot better.

Rodrygo. Cunha isn’t even getting called up in the national team anymore.

Rodrygo. Cunha isn’t even getting called up in the national team anymore.

Their record sale is Nunes at €60m.

good luck with that

However, Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Pérez, has made it clear that Rodrygo won’t leave easily, setting a hefty price tag of $175 million.

Are people not put off a little by Williams’s lack of goals and assists? I don’t watch Athletic so I can’t comment to his actual performances on the pitch

Good opportunity to strike if anything, or is it…
A caveat that should be considered in his case is that while his individual numbers are not great, Bilbao are flying both domestically and in Europe, and he’s an integral player of theirs.

His lack of production is defnintiely something that makes me wonder

Is it a case of playing with better players and simply maturing or is he just not that productive?

It’s a gamble in that sense because we do of course need production on that flank in addition to the 1 v 1 ability and other physical attributes

Are people not put off by Cunha’s production prior to this season?

This is more about Cunha not being a great fit relative to price as opposed to a direct comparison between Nico and Cunha.

12 goals and 7 assists in 23/24. Similar production to Havertz last season. I don’t hate it

I accept the last point in your post

Pretty uninspiring numbers going further back though. I just think we have other areas we could better soend the money. I actually like Cunha but think he doesn’t really fit anywhere for us right now.

I would not have an issue with this signing but would defo mean Trossard leaves and we would HAVE to sign a top forward in the summer.

Cunha Isak saka

More than good enough to win the league and none over 25.

Regarding Williams I have the same concerns with his numbers. But i also had the same hesitation when isak had a :poop: season at sociedad before he left for nufc, and we know how that turned out :man_shrugging:t4:

Cunha is not really a winger though, which is a big problem with this potential move. He seems best as a 10 with some freedom to roam, a role we don’t really have in our current set-up.

If he comes it’s to play CF or LW.

Jesus being in some form atm and havertz being Mikel’s baby suggests to me it would be LW for now.

I don’t think arteta has completely given up on martinelli, and is more then happy with him as the fast winger option, and cunha as the one who is slightly less traditional but effective in their own way.

He has that bit of magic and ability to create moments, and at 25 will only get better. Can see why the transfer would appeal to arteta.

Don’t get me wrong, he not my first choice.
