I mentioned it a couple months ago but in some report from The Athletic they suggested that we may sign Zubimendi early so that he’s registered in this accounting period(ends in June).

That way it would give us more room to move in the following accounting period(starts in July).
Last time we did that was with Havertz and we ended up spending over 200m that summer.
Big window ahead.

Let’s put some respect on his name. Sure, I also don’t think he’s Partey level good but Partey is one of a kind.
Partey at his best was up there with Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.

Even so, Zubimendi has proven to be one of the best in his position too. There’s a reason top clubs have been knocking at his doorstep for years. Massive coup from Arsenal to be the ones to finally poach him from Sociedad.

I just have to hope he turns out better than Merino and Havertz did - as a midfielder.

Tired of all our recent midfield signings ending up as strikers lol. This one has to be spot on.

Wasn’t really hyped about him last year, when it was being reported we basically signed him.
But now with Jorginho gone and Partey as the only proper proven option as a 6, who’s not getting younger, things did start to look thin there. Happy we covered that.

It’s not long ago we’d get a signing like this done early, then sell one of our best players and that was our business done.

Let’s hope Zubimendi is the hors d’oeuvre with a main course of well done Gyokeres followed by LW surprise dessert. :grinning_face:
